IMO Hayward is far more athletic. I still think he will figure it out. I just don't know if it will happen anytime soon.
 
Again he is at least a two year project as told by KOC. True his early play has been pretty brutal, but give the kid time and he is way more athletic than morrison. So no to the Morrision comparison!
 
Hayward much more athletic than Morrison. Morrison much more skilled than Hayward. If we could create an Adon Haywarrson the Jazz might have that extra wing they need this year.

What are you basing this on? Hayward's vanilla dunk on a fast break, or his SICK fail attempt last night? Hayward jumps higher than Morrison, but that's all he has a clear edge on (and that probably matters least for a perimeter player), if athletic testing at the combine means anything. Morrison's lane agility drills were better and his 3/4 sprint speed is practically identical. Morrison also has a 2" reach advantage. Whether you want to compare Morrison pre-injury or post, take your pick. He wasn't good before he got injured, either.

Hayward isn't and never has been athletic by NBA standards. If he doesn't learn to shoot, he'll be out of the league the first chance a team has to dump his salary. He doesn't have the size, strength, or athleticism to make anything happen the way Brewer or Evans does. Homers of his can bookmark this and come back to it and point and laugh if I'm wrong, but if he makes anything happen, he has to be a shooting threat first.

Send him Hornacek, and send him to the D-League.
 
I wanted the kid to do well. I wanted KOC to be right, and I wanted to be wrong for booing the pick at the ESA. But 3 games, 3 starts, 9 fouls, 3 TO's, 4 rebounds and 1 point tells a sad story. His body language tells another sad story. I think the kid has been broke, I hope he has the character to fight back.

I might have given credit to Hayward if he woulda finished his dunk last night but NOPE.
 
I agree, mellow. I think there is a noticeable difference between his body language now and at the beginning of the season. His head is out of it (or, rather, too far into it). He needs to be sent to the D-League, pronto.

I've been rooting for Hayward since the three days it took me to stop brutally hating the pick, but, right now, I want to see a lot less of him.

EDIT -- I stand by my statements from earlier this year: one of these rookies needs to contribute something THIS YEAR. It's obviously not going to be Hayward. So, can Evans? How can/should we use him? I've suggested starting him at the 3 and moving AK to the defensive 2. I know this is a stretch. Any other ideas? The point of starting him is that he seems to be a great 5th option. Moving Raja to the second unit makes some sense in terms of shooting and scoring distribution.

I thought he got fouled on the play but I agree he should have finished the dunk.
 
I'm losing faith, not even a glimpse of being an NBA player yet. At this point I would just like to see some practice footage of him making some 3's to know their is at least some potential.

Still stand by him being more athletic and he can shoot. He was quite good his Freshman year. Does it mean anything to you that KOC came right out of the gate and said it will be two years before he is really NBA ready? Clearly the pick was not made for him to help us win a championship this year. By the way I was an Ed Davis man. So not exactly a big Hayward homer.
 
Once he learns the offense I think he will be solid. You can see Dwill has to point to him where to go constantly.
