What's new

Is Brandon Rush Done?

he was athletic, a good defender, and a deadly shooting threat. never lived up to his draft positioning but a really really nice role player.

Kinda like burks, jeffy, hayward, and marvin

This......Rush was way over hyped after the trade. Most the people around here thought he was the highlight of the trade. Rush was supposed to come back and replace Burks.

I don't think there were many people who thought he was better than Burks, except for that point last month when the board was ready to trade Burks for a half eaten tamale. I think the point was that Rush added a different skill that Burks didn't have in long distance shooting. Turns out that Burke is good enough from distance that he can fill this role instead, as does a healthy Williams, making Rush a lot less valuable in comparison to Burks. Burke hitting these shots wasn't a given after summer league with many, leading to the notion that SOMEBODY had to be in the starting lineup that could connect from 3, even if that player wasn't as overall a good player as Burks. If Williams gets shipped, there may be a need for a second look at Rush. Until then, meh. . .

see: major knee injuries

Homeboy has been shooting in practices for months and months.

He should be able to make wide open jumpers right?
Are you sure it was a knee injury and not a wrist, shoulder, or elbow?

Then Memo should still be in the NBA.

Are you really this dense?

Memo would be better than rush tbh.

Rush has not made a shot in forever..... he looks scared to shoot.... he is fat and slow..... horrible on defense..... not rebounding or getting assists.

Sure his injury plays a part in that..... and the same could be said for kanter and his two injuries he has had this year..... but although kanter is looking better than rush, and is 21 years old and never even played college ball kanter gets bashed constantly...... Yet rush should get a pass cause one time he peaked at 9 points a game (less than the 21 year old kanter btw) and is now coming back from injury?

Are you that dense?

Also, I bet memo could hit an open jumper.
Wish I could say the same for rush.

If we are gonna bash kanter for his poor play even though he is coming back from injury and is extremely inexperienced and raw, then I think its fair to bash rush despite him coming back from injury too.

Personally I think they both are better than what they are showing right now but the fact is kanter looks pretty bad and rush looks like he doesn't even belong, or want to be on the court.

"Shooting jumpers in a gym = ready for the NBA."

Has Rush not heard of this new fangled thing called the gym where they have these wonderous things like exercise bikes, pools, weight machines and free weights? Maybe if he joined one his fat might start to disappear, he could get himself in better cardio shape and his confidence might come back.

Just curious numb........ How many games did you watch of brandon rush pre injury, back when he was lighting up defenders on the offensive end and shutting down superstars on the defensive end.

This aint lebron we talkin bout.
Sure his injury is playing a part in his poor play, but also the fact that he just isn't that good in the first place is playing a part as well.

I say he is playing piss poor.... you blame it all on the injury.

I say kanter is playing piss poor....... no excuses.

Brandon Rush has the body of Deron Williams. I have never seen him appear ripped. Maybe he's loafing, but people loafing don't return from an ACL tear and play in a league that is the apex level of competition in one year (outside of Adrian Peterson's success which has turned the average fan into a complete mouth-breathing moron about the topic, it's universally accepted that *MOST* ACL tears take two years to recover from).

I'm not saying Rush will be fine or not, but he's looked like he forced himself back. It's ultimately all rather inconsequential.

I don't really care about Brandon Rush. I'm confused why anyone does. Besides that, I take offense that everyone has this attitude that ACL tears - which have traditionally been career-altering to the point of career-cancelling - are just a thing that everyone recovers from.

Enes Kanter appears healthy enough to play basketball in a way that doesn't absolutely destroy his own team. His injury wasn't in his knee. And BTW, even with Brandon Rush looking like cold dog ****, the Jazz don't play as poorly when he's on the floor as they do with Kanter.
