Some Hillary Clinton supporters (not the Hillary campaign) speculated that Obama did not qualify for automatic citizenship because of his mother's age and his father's nationality. They did not, however, speculate that he was not actually born in Hawaii.

It appears to have taken a turn after some particularly hard-core Hillary supporters (the lunatic fringe, if you will) didn't like the fact they lost the Primary.

This article attributes the claims to two individuals: Linda Starr and Philip Berg.

I don't care about his birth certificate. I'm more curious to see his college paper trail...grades, papers or whatever. No one has the copies of those either.

Not at all surprising. I graduated from college much more recently than Obama and could probably only produce a fraction of my work. And I have the benefit of digital storage rather than typewriter copies.

Maybe in a historical sense, but my experience has been that people change their opinions over the course of several decades.

Corsi would laugh all the way to the bank. Although in all honesty, I doubt Obama has it. And even if he did release it I don't think those who are committed to Birther-ism would accept it as genuine.

Ummm, didn't you just support what I heard. "Starr had volunteered for the Clinton campaign during the hotly contested June Lone Star State primary and served as a Clinton delegate at the state convention."

Because of where the majority of the stories originate, and the right wing media is running away from it. Trump is a liberal and a shameless self-promoter. I think what he is doing is hilarious just because it pisses the Left off.

The long form of a birth certificate gives details as to whether the birth took place in a hospital, birthing facility or home. The short form does not have this information.
The attendant physician or midwife is listed on a long-form birth certificate, but not on the short form.
The long-form birth certificate lists the nationality of both parents, but the short form does not.
The date of birth of the parents is listed on the long form certificate; short form certificates list the names only.

There's a big difference between it being the brainchild of a random hard-core supporter and it coming out of Hillary's camp, which makes it sound like Hillary or someone very close to her came up with it.

Because of where the majority of the stories originate, and the right wing media is running away from it.

Hannity has run Birther stories repeatedly over the last month including March 23, 24, 25 and April 5, 14, 15.

Palin appeared on Fox News on the 9th and 19th of this month and discussed birther issues related to Donald Trump.

There have also been notes about the birther issue on Fox all this month from Steve Doocy, Bill O'Reilly, Jeanine Pirro, Monica Crowley, etc etc.

If they're "running away from it" they have a funny way of showing it.

Trump is a liberal and a shameless self-promoter. I think what he is doing is hilarious just because it pisses the Left off.

Trump appears to be promoting his television show, but it's clear that he's tapping into something in the primary voting/straw poll attending demographic of the party that's real. While his candidacy is a chimera, the response he's getting is not.

Is Barak Obama's short-form birth certificate sufficient to get a passport? To be honest it looks a lot like mine and I got a passport without a hitch.

Good question. According to the birther nutjobs, the answer is that "anyone can get a short form certificate from Hawaii, even anyone who wasn't born in Hawaii." The whole crux of the matter is his place of birth. If he was born in Hawaii he is a US citizen. Who his parents are on the long form or where in Honolulu he was born is absolutely irrelevant.

But not anyone can get a short form certificate that states they were born in Honolulu in Honolulu County on the island of Oahu. When that fact is presented to them, they then start babbling about how the certificate is a fake and whatever helps them feel comfortable with their idiocy.

Didn't read the thread, but I just had to ask: what kind of pompous douchebag do you have to be to put your PhD on the cover of a political attack book? I understand slapping it on the cover of a book related to your field, but for this? The ego is overpowering.
