Is Russia Helping Trump?

You claim to be unbiased yet you say nothing of all the monies the clintons have accepted from Saudi Arabia an Iran through there super pacs. What are your thoughts on that?

My answer is I am not unbiased at all. Quite honestly, my fear of what a Trump Presidency would mean makes me very biased. I admitted as much earlier in this thread, when I said I was biased for the reason that I felt Trump, by far, was a much greater threat to our body politic then Clinton was. I am not claiming to be unbiased, and I said that if Clinton is a bitch, she is our bitch, and Russia can stay the hell out of our elections. Although, of course, today Trump called upon the Russians to please go right ahead and violate our national security!!

The Brits caused an funded are Revolutionary war. Sense then we have been under the control of imperial British banking interests. They got there claws entrenched when the Federal Reserve Act was signed. Everything we do these days is under fielty to the crown.

Babe is that you? lol

My God! I can not believe I supported this man. I am so ashamed right now. I am ashamed that I went after the republican establishment for doing everything in there power to stop this man. In hindsight I can now see the wisdom in having a establishment to protect us from are selves.

Hey is not Donald's daughter Ivanka a Russian-American?

This is fun.

Hilary's emails aren't a big deal, unless if the Russians got them when she couldn't find them. Lol.

"Guys! I swear they just disappeared. Accidentally deleted whoops!! No biggie though."

"Wait?! Trump is asking the Russians to release those emails I sent from an unprotected server and then accidentally lost?! TREASON! TREASON!"

It's just funny how now the emails matter. What a clown show this election, and both parties are.

This story is obviously swamping the news cycle at the moment. Just a mind boggling press conference by an American Presidential candidate. This Vox article does a fair job of explaining the salient points of Trump's Russian "policy":

https://www.vox.com/2016/7/27/12271042/donald-trump-russia-putin-hack-explained

An excerpt, to describe Russian strategy and to emphasize exactly what Trump is actually encouraging the Russians to do:

"The bigger picture here is that Russia under Putin has something of a habit of using information as a weapon in foreign countries.

This is born, as the New York Times’ Max Fisher explains, from a traumatic experience Russia had in the mid-2000s. A series of pro-Kremlin strongmen in former Eastern Bloc states were toppled by the so-called “Color Revolutions.” In 2011, protests in Moscow threatened the very stability of the Putin regime itself. These were seen, in the paranoid climate of Moscow, as American intelligence operations.

As a result, Russian strategic leaders came to see the internal politics of other countries as a key battlefield.

Fisher points to a 2013 article, by Gen. Valery V. Gerasimov, as key evidence of this new Russian thinking. Gerasimov argued that “non-military means” had eclipsed weapons in their strategic importance. Controlling the information and propaganda environment can inflict serious blows on one’s enemies.

“The role of nonmilitary means of achieving political and strategic goals has grown, and, in many cases, they have exceeded the power of force of weapons in their effectiveness,” Gerasimov writes. He advocates using “military means of a concealed character,” including “actions of informational conflict” in order to accomplish Russian strategic objectives.

Gerasimov’s article uses the Arab Spring as a key example, which is telling. The Arab Spring wasn’t about wars between countries, but rather upheaval inside countries. Gerasimov’s ideas, then, are explicitly designed to be used in attempts to influence other countries’ internal politics and conflicts.

So it’s not just that the hack looks traceable back to Russian hackers. It’s that the strategic effect of the leak — exacerbating existing divisions inside America’s ruling Democratic party — fits squarely within Russian strategic doctrine.

The fact that Trump is seemingly inviting more Russian intervention into US politics, then, is very, very disturbing. He’s basically encouraging Russia to try out Gerasimov’s playbook in the United States."

Trump supporters will not care, if they even hear about it.

Trump supporters will not care, if they even hear about it.

That's the problem, die hard fans will not even look into the possible motives Russia might have had to hurt Hillary's campaign. Not to defend Russia's actions of intervening in our domestic affairs, but maybe we should ask ourselves why are they targeting Hillary instead of Trump? Just throwing that question out there.

No huh I was Trumps biggest supporter. Now after this I cannot vote anything cept treason an the gallows.

Now I think Trump was a setup to assure Hillary the White House. Is he mad? He knew this statement will cost him presidency so why say it? For Hillary.

I am voting either Gary Johnson or Bernie.

You just want WWIII, just say it. I know it makes you horny just to think about it.

Oh my goodness, absolutely. One has to do with DNC dirty tricks. The other has to do with foreign interference in American elections. Something we were warned about by George Washington. They are two different issues. You can be as pissed as you want to be about Clinton and the DNC. Doesn't mean you have to overlook or ignore foreign interference. She may be a bitch, but she's our bitch, stay the hell out of our elections!

Here's another take you won't like at all, since DNC dirty tricks are more important then Putin trying to steer our election to his desired outcome.

https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/what-this-is-really-about

And another article you can criticize for not sticking to DNC dirty tricks....
From Washington's Farewell Address:

https://www.thedailybeast.com/artic...us-about-vladimir-putin-s-political-hack.html

One can easily, and correctly, say it is Hillary's and the DNC's fault that Putin had anything to leak. But if you don't understand the gravity of foreign interference in our elections, actually trying to help the candidate friendliest to Putin, well, glad I don't think that way. It's something we should be concerned with every day of the week and twice on Sunday. And there is every likelihood Putin plans an even more devastating release in October. So our October surprise will be delivered by a foreign government, with a view toward determining the outcome of our election. Nobody, at least not I, is saying let's overlook the nature of the leaks. But if you don't understand the gravity of the actions taken by a foreign government, I guess you don't care at all about that. I do.
If the Russians are trying to manipulate our elections it is a big deal. I agree with that 100%. The fact that Clinton and the Democrats created these emails is an even bigger deal. Their corruption and lies have put them in an extremely vulnerable position.

Think of it this way. If the media had uncovered this info we would see it as their responsibility to reveal it to the public. If you listened to MSNBC's Chris Matthews talk about this last night you would have heard him try to turn it into an indictment of Trump. He says he's becoming more and more certain that Trump has direct ties to Putin and is being financed by the Russians. It's truly bizarre listening to him try to spin this thing into a positive for Hillary. He completely ignores what the emails are telling us about the Democratic candidate and her party.

It is an embarrassment that America has to choose between these two candidates.

One last(?)addition to my rant. What would History judge to be the bigger story here? The fact that a politician engaged in political dirty tricks(OMG, has that ever happened before?? Quick, Martha, get the smelling salts!!)or the fact that Vladimir Putin interfered in an American Presidential election to help insure a victory for Donald J. Trump?? But I get it. If ya hate Hillary more, Putin did you a big favor. And if you hate Trump more, Putin helped foist a national nightmare on us, should his gambit bear the fruit he desires.
I think your hate of Trump is skewing your view of this issue. Are you really saying that you are angry about the transparency that Wikileaks is providing? I think that's crazy.

If there is a Russian connection to this, and if there is a connection between Trump and Putin, I also hope that is revealed. I want Trump's tax returns released and analyzed, and I want the same with Clinton's.

At this point I see both these candidates as disastrously flawed. I did not buy Bill's "gee willikers" version of the Hillary story last night, though I know many people did. He's a hell of a salesman and it's clear that some people are still clamoring to buy his snake oil.

I should not continue to be surprised, but I honestly did not expect this. Today, Trump asked Russia to help him some more.....

https://www.theatlantic.com/politic...-hack-classified-american-information/493244/
This interpretation of what he said is ridiculous. You honestly believe that he is in direct communication with the Kremlin, yet he decided to send them this message over American airwaves. It's clear to me that he was saying that we have an interest in what the deleted emails contained. It's truly stunning to me that so many people don't care about the fact that she decided to delete all of this information and destroy the server.

And BTW, if anybody has the documents they got them as a result of hacking into the server before you and I ever knew it existed. If an army of Russian hackers have deployed as a result of that comment from Trump they are wasting their time. That server was obliterated long ago.

I say put Putin in our ignore list instead. Let's go even further, let's not listen to anything any leader in the world has to say.

Do people see Wikileaks as politically biased? I thought that (until now) the left loved them because of transparency.

I think both candidates should call for Wikileaks to release everything they have right now. I agree that it reflects badly on them that they are putting this out in dribs and drabs, apparently building up to an October surprise.

Also, I assume that the reason they aren't releasing anything on Trump is because they don't have anything. But I might be wrong about that.

It's not that Clinton supporters believe that this will hurt her.

It's that Trump has sunk himself so low to ask Russia of all people to attack a political opponent and ruin her.

Is this really the standard we want to set?

If trump wins, what else will he do to political opponents?

You just want WWIII, just say it. I know it makes you horny just to think about it.

I want managed world peace with in my lifetime. My wife is a distinguished Miss America contestant an she agrees. We can accomplish this if we get enough political willingness.

Idk. We do know that Hillary will send the government after companies she personally has issues with. Trump might, he might not. But we do know Hillary will.

At the end of the day, Trump sucks. But he wouldn't be able to pull this off if Hillary wasn't just as bad. The fact that you can't admit that is terrifying. I don't expect much less from the partisan hack that you are though.

What's the point of even posting on this website anymore? My goodness

**** it. I was planning on voting Hillary but I'm sick of hearing about her evils too. I'm convinced that she is no better than the Donald.

My vote, as of now, will go to johnson or bernie. Preferably bernie but if bernie has little to no chance to effect any outcomes then johnson it is.
