The only issue with this is you still get tons of Giants/A's and Niner/Raiders fans in Sacremento since they are only 90 minutes away.
True, but how can you tell who is more popular? You can't.

Los Angeles-USC/Dodgers
Oklahoma City-OU/OSU
Portland-most likely but still a crap load of Duck fans
These other three are all football towns:
San Antonio
Charlotte
Memphis
Please name me Memphis and San Antonio's football team.
I think it is interesting to note that Slc is the only NBA city withou another big 4 sports franchise(NBA,NFL,MLB,NHL) within a 500 mile radius.
This along with the Wasatch fronts exploding growth is why I think we will see one of those sports make a home in salt Lake within the next 15 years.
Take the NFL there is an arguement to be made that we could support a team better than 2-4 current NFL cities. L.A. is obviously the next city to get a team after that it's between Portland and Salt Lake.
I could see a baseball team coming to Utah.
Edit: Also there are 3 normal routes from SLC to Denver. One of them is 488 miles. HA!

The Warriors are the most popular team right now. It might be Raiders in the Warriors down years, but when the Warriors are good, it's their town.
The warrior's popularity ebbs and flows. The raiders are a constant.
Not sure if talking bull-****(figuratively and literally) but ain't the Bulls #1 over the baseball teams?
More than the Cubs?
What about da Bears?
