Is it really a good idea for Israel to start playing political games like this? They require an awful lot of aid from the USA and it sure would be a shame for them if they ticked off the wrong party...
it’s a conversation we need to have. Just how much aid should we give to Israel and what strings should be attached? Why aren’t we pressing them to stop committing human rights violations? Is our increasing loyalty towards Israel hurting our own perception in the Middle East?
I think a huge misconception here is equating Israel, the country to Judaism, the religion.
Israel, the country, like all countries can engage in immoral and unjust policies. And they currently are. The way they are treating Palestinians is criminal and unjust. It would be labeled as war crimes if it were done by a majority Muslim country against a Jewish population.
Again, the United States, for short term gains, is siding with a dictator who is clearly on the wrong side of history. Bibi is only exacerbating the situation because he is playing on nationalism to remain in power. He can’t offer solutions so he offers hatred and fear.
