It is time consider trade Hayward

And I know someone here thinks I am stupid for saying, but its true. Please listen my thoughts ok?

Hayward is not number on player for Jazz or anyone. He is very good second guy or even supreme third one. Jazz need to figure out something and swing for fences. maybe even jedi GM Linsey can know more diamonds in rough that can become stars.

Hayward is not take a paycut next time. Hello! This is not good. now its money is ok next time? NO way!

Hayward is not happy. This is ASSumption and I know, but I think we can see it. He did not get better and he still sulks.

Hayward is not want keep rebuild and bake cakes! He does not want it! We are on path to make cake at least 3 years if not perpetually! Hayward is 27 on next deal. He will go to a contender. Done believe me if you don't want but I am smarter than you can even guess! I knew Lyles and even some here keep say oooohhh give him time. LOL Jedi GM is trash bin Jedi. He can't use mind tricks on me about Jazz DNA. I don't want or need it!

I think the thread title ought to have been, "Is it time to consider trading Hayward?"

This is an interesting question, that creates a lot of good discussion.

Just thinking off the top of my head I say no, because 1- it signals to the fans the rebuild failed, 2-it puts your new young coach in a bad spot, 3- it signals the team that winning isn't the goal, 4- if utah can't keep Hayward, who will it ever keep?

My thought: We can keep anyone we start win and make real progress to get better every year. DL mess up huge this offseason. He should have started get better players off the bench. We never built to win this year only one injury destroys us. now two? Player see this and get tired. It is true. They don't like baking too long

You have to think...would you just lose all the time? I like progress we make, but DL is a dip turd and gets free passes here. He forgot to add enough water to this one cake.

Of course its time to consider trading him, doesn't mean ya pull the trigger. To say otherwise means your failing to recognize other more valuable assets potentially to be had, and he's only under the Jazz control thru next season.

It depends on the offer obviously, there's more than a few teams who can build a package for him though.

I can construct 15 trades for Hayward that the other team wouldn't pull the trigger on..

Lol. Hayward didn't improve. Except for the part where is 8 shooting better and scoring the same, rebounding more, getting to the line. Yeah those things don't matter.

Do you think hayward would have netted the jazz the #4 pick in last years draft? Would be sweet to have porz right now.

I doubt it. the Knicks might have been really high on Porz all along, their scout Clarrence Gaines Jr told Phil it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to draft him.. which would mean they were probably pretty confident a stud would be on the board with Towns, Russell and Okafor.

Plus the Knicks have long been trading picks for vets, and they don't have a pick this year, So i think they wanted a 20 year old on a rookie deal instead of a 25 year old expiring in 2 seasons..

If it helps the Jazz then yes.

Hayward is a #1 option. He is not a top tier #1, maybe 25th best #1 in the league, so yes, we can do better.

However, even the rock stars that you think make all the game winning shots actually don't. They just take it all the time so when they hit it 25% of the time, you see the Sportscenter highlight.

DL screwed up by letting Hayward get to RFA. Now he gets more money than it was rumored he wanted from the Jazz.
Plus, I think there is a poison pill in there if the Jazz trade him.

Finally, he can now opt out after next year so yes, he will get a lot more money from somebody....

At the end of the day it is a business decision and IMO, everyone is on the table, always.

Depends on what you get in return. If Philly calls up and says we will give you our draft spot for Hayward, I think you kind of think about it. But I am not sure you do it even then. Cause there is no guarantee we get Simmons. And I agree that it shows the fanbase that the rebuild failed and that's not good. If we trade any of the starting five is not a good idea right now.

I also think that we are still young, and that most of us expect more than maybe we should from them, me included. I have to sometimes take a step back and see the overall age of this team. And then I am amazed of how well they have played some top tier teams.

The only reason to trade Hayward is if one of the top 10 players available, and that would mean trading Hayward and Favors to do that, or at least Hayward, Burks, and multiple picks. And the only reason to do that is if the player is disgruntled or the FO isn't going to want to pay them next their next paycheck. Who out there fits that's description right now?

And no team is going to give up their top 3 draft pick for Hayward since he is only going to be under contract until the end of next season. The Sixers would really risk a top 3 pick to have Hayward be there for a year, laugh at the ****ty situation in front of him, and bounce to another team?

The only viable situation I see playing out is maybe trading Hayward to the Celtics for the Brooklyn Nets pick. Nets have the 3rd worst record, but I don' think they will end up that bad in the end since they have no reason to tank. So you might be trading Hayward for the likely 6th pick or so, with a small chance of jumping into the top 3. You have to think Boston is really excited about the chance at Simmons, so maybe they aren't ready to do that trade.

The positive of trading Hayward would that our team would be ****ing awful and we probably wouldn't win very many more games, so we would have the Nets possible top 6 pick and probably our own top 6 pick.

Either rebuild is not finish or it has failed. You cannot tell us it was success us fans are not blind.

Utah will sigh and trade Hayward first round picks and burks for Kevin Durant next summer. Now is time for tanking for top picks. Maybe they already are tanking. I mean, hear me out. Gobert is injured in practice where nobody can see it. They do not give return timeline for days then tripple the estimate that doctors told us is reasonable. Next Quin starts fiddlin with the lineups like a southerner playing the devils went down to georgia.

He's only a leader 1/10 games. Sure he scores points and fills up the stat sheet, but when you need him to step it up and put the team on his back he's usually dreadful. I agree with OP that he's a great 2nd option, but until he starts being a clutch go to guy he will never be a number one option.

As far as a trade? I'm not sure exactly what we could get for him. Definitely not a better #2 option, and definitely not a #1.
