What's new

It is time consider trade Hayward

Do y'all really forsee the Jazz ripping off like 10 game win streaks with Hayward lighting it up every game?? That ****s NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. Quote me on it, put it in your sigs if you feel strongly otherwise.

Hayward just isn't consistent enough to be our leader. He's too passive, and not vocal enough. He's got so much talent its a shame
he doesnt have the alpha male gene. Hever has, and never will.

If you have Hayward plus a true star we start talking championships. If Hayward is your "star", and your "leader" we talk playoffs, and early exits.

No, I don't ever see that happening. And I don't ever foresee him being an All-Star either, which is contrary to what 90% of this board believes.

Somebody walk me through the "Because Hayward isn't a superstar, we have no choice but to trade him" logic, because I'm really not getting it. He's still a really damn good player, and it's not like he's putting us over the cap/preventing us from signing some great player.

You're all too busy bitching about what he isn't to appreciate what he is, which is one of the team's best players and a fantastic asset for us.

Okay so furthermore, If he can be traded for some elite players or potentially elite ones. PULL the trigger, It's like this dude drops 25 a night the way people defend him. He's only on the books for another year and a half. then they can't snowball him as an asset. Its fruitless.

gonna wait til this dude's got 100million in the bank and he's in his late 20's to see if hes good enough to be featured in a playoff game? -- You've gotta listen to offers, HE'S EXPIRING NEXT SUMMER.
Good post

Will that change when we sign him for 25 million per year on his next contract?

He'll get more than 25 per year.

DL really screwed the pooch gambling on him last time. After next season he can opt out and be an unrestricted free agent.

I am real curious to see what he will do. Now that he is set for life financially, if he wants to win and does not feel the jazz will give him that, will he move on.... Or, is he comfortable ?

I don't think the train of thought is "you must trade him" as much as "what can be had if he were to be traded". That's IMO a legit question the front office should be asking. A team like Boston with a ton of future assets may be ok trading quality picks for a chance to add Hayward to the team.

More stupid trade Hayward posts. Let's wait until next year to assess the situation.

PGAB said that hayward can opt out and be a free agent next summer. So waiting till next year would not be an option if PGAB is correct about him being able to opt out next summer

This is a knee jerk chicken little thread. Hayward has a PO for 2017-18, so he would be opting out the summer of 2017, not 2016. I think DL keeps pretty good tabs on personnel satisfaction and would have a really good idea as to what Hayward is thinking far in advance.

Let me preface my next statement with the fact that all players are available for a price. If somebody wants to get stupid, you take advantage. My biggest beef with a Hayward for picks scenario is that it take so long for those types of assets to bear fruit, that I have to wonder how much of the team would be intact by the time those picks or even prospects surpass the production of Hayward. Even OKC who hit it way way out of the park drafting has yet to bring a championship. Even with everybody healthy it doesn't look promising for them this year either.

It almost feels like teams with an elite culture are becoming more successful than teams with a superstar. EG SA pulling Aldridge out of their hats. IMO Impatience is one of the most destructive traits of any goal. It's important to know when a good opportunity comes along and jump on it, but far more bad opportunities will be available and it is just as important to pass those up.

2017-18 is the end of our window for most of the key players. So middle of next year is the time to hit the panic button. Perhaps by the end of this offseason for Hayward.

Lol you are senile? Nobody is going to make Gordon Hayward there franchise cornerstone.

He got max last time because cap increases.

Lets not do anything drastic because a few select fans see player option and panic. Hayward likes it here he likes his teammates. Nobody loves moving there wife and child.

How was the pooch screwed by signing Hayward? Are we over the cap and in the LT? Did signing Hayward prevent us from signing someone else? You make no sense.
