It's Over - Ne Deal for Gtime - RFA time

Even if your opinion is logical, you deserve most crap sent your way after posting something like this in a Jazz forum:

Fair enough. Just seeing people get so butt hurt over what he says is funny is all. Give him exactly what he wants...

If the preseason and the first game are precursors of the future, the Hayward probably made a mistake.

I like Hayward on this team as a starter but not as a star.

Here's a thought on the bolded part of your post I quoted.

"For Hayward, his personal intrigue in the negotiations weighed heavily as a distraction, and the young forward now must regroup mentally and shift complete focus onto the basketball court."

And a direct quote from Hayward's agent: "He didn’t enjoy the process, but he knows it’s part of the business."

These were pulled from Real GM - https://basketball.realgm.com/wiret...cted-Free-Agency-After-No-Extension-With-Jazz

Now that the extension deadline has passed I think Hayward will start playing better.

I think I've made it clear that Favors is my favorite player on this team and has been since he arrived.

The way this all played out has caused me to like him even more. He was reasonable and he is going to be great for this team. He got a good deal and so did the Jazz.

Here we come Parker/Wig/Randle/Exum

It seems obvious, if true, that Gordon is in fact expecting max money. You want confidence but he's offbase to think any team can build around him as the franchise player.

Hayward is not a make or break the team type player.
He iss better than dunleavy, reddick, korver, ect

But he ain't no harden, george, kobe, wade, melo, bron, durant, or iggy.

I would probably even take klay and kahwi over hayward.

Hayward is probably about on the level of luol deng.

If we lose him in free agency it won't be that big a deal.
If we re-sign him then great

I'm also fine with losing him that way too. But I think Jazz should explore a trade. get a lottery pick this year from one of those teams delusional as Hayward is about his abilities (his agent must have info from at least 1 GM, no?)

Ok, I get the former coach connection, but.... Lets say Boston ends up with top 2 pick and gets either Parker or Wiggins. They have J.Green as well who is going to put up way better numbers then Hayward this season BTW. Why would they commit over 12 mil ( they know that 10-11 mil won't do it as UTAH will match easily) for another wing who is no better then Green/ Wiggins or Parker? I just don't see that happening.

I think this is nothing more than Gordon thinking he can get a little bit more out of Utah. Pounding his chest about his 'value' and at least being sure there is ONE team out there that will pay more money than Utah and the Jazz match... but I'm not sure we do.

Hayward is a very nice player, but I don't see anything north of $10MM.

This is about a young player listening to his agent who wants to get more out of Utah.
