Jake Heaps needs someone to help pack his bags...

Wow I know rumors have been going since he got benched but if true I honestly didn't think he would since he still has a red shirt to burn.
 
I didn't hear it all, but they mentioned something about Seattle.
Which school is he transferring to?
 
Huge failure for BYU, I think Doman is the one to blame. Big prospects will always look at the Heaps situation and could hurt future recruiting.


Will Apo leave too?
 
If Apo and Van Noy leave, I know a school that would gladly take them.

Heaps, not so much.

Heaps sucking has to do with Heaps. He's running from his problems, and inability to beat out Riley on the field.
His 5 yards per attempt says a lot. I don't think he will succeed wherever he goes, because you can't run from your problems.
He needs to face up to why he was benched, and work on those issues. He's not doing his reads, he is staring down the receivers he wants to throw to and the defenses know this. They wait for him to commit and jump on it. He hasn't learned to "look off" a safety, or many many other seemingly small, yet important QB skills. I honestly think he thought he had the starting gig in the bag after last year, so he coasted during the summer and did not work hard on getting better.

I wish him the best, but BYU needs people that are not afraid of competition and/or hard work.

I don't think Apo or Van Noy or Stout will leave with him, that would be silly... but I also thought he would stay and red shirt too.

So if he sits a year wherever he goes, he can use his redshirt for that can't he? If not he will only have 1 year left to play.

Being a ***** and not wanting to take a hit and being afraid to be hit has nothing to do with Doman. Heaps looked good last year against crap competition. He looked good this year against crap competition. Bottom line is this: Jake Heaps is not who we thought he was.
 
This is going to sound strange because I'm sorta sticking up for Heaps, but doesn't anybody else find it interesting that all of the rumored schools who have interest in him are big time programs? USC, CAL, Washington, etc? These schools have over a season's worth of film of Heaps starting at the D1 level. Perhaps the kid has some growing up to do, but if he was as big of a puss/douchebag/cancer, or as overrated as some try to make it sound, this kid's options would probably be a couple of Big Sky schools.

Face it: Bronco mismanaged Heaps from the beginning. Badly. Is some of this on Heaps? Certainly, but he wasn't exactly thrown into an enviornment that was going to foster his development. Jeff Tedford is probably licking his chops. Sounds like there's at least a little bit of rumor out there that Apo may be leaving with him. If that ends up being the case, this is bad for BYU.

I haven't heard any rumors of Apo leaving, I was just throwing the noodles against the wall to see if they stuck. I don't think Apo goes.
As to the Bronco QB management issues, I don't think they are as big a deal as people make them out to be. Riley got hurt and the job was then Heaps to lose. Heaps went ahead and played sucky and lost the spot. I think people are making a big deal out of something that ended up being not much in regards to any "mismanagement" of the QB's last year. Yes he did not decide to go with 1 QB, but that decision was made for him fairly shortly.

Seriously, what football player can't handle a little competition for a spot? If you can't take it at the D1 level, you don't belong.

I hope Heaps goes to the Pac 12, that would be great. Those schools have a history of wanting and dealing with people with big ego's and entitlement issues.
Isn't that a requirement to be in the conference?

j/k about that last part, it just sounded funny so just erase those Pac12 apology posts, and BYU ego posts that you have ready as drafts.

I on the other hand, have been known to pee natural spring water, crap gold bars, and cry diamonds... could probably find something positive in there.

There has got to be a pony in there somewhere.
