Alright. So is he a 6’5” Hayward who plays with more passion? Looks pretty solid, and aggressive. Why did he only average 13.4 PPG as a junior?
Didn’t he one off the bench? Can or does he play pg?

Bench, but his team was stacked and seniors played ahead of him.Didn’t he one off the bench? Can or does he play pg?

If Boston selects this kid, GH might never play another game for the Celts.
He can probably defend PG's, so will probably be viewed as a combo guard.Is he strictly a sg?

The best thing about him is that he plays like he is athletic compared to other similar players in his archetype. Connaughton jumped out the gym at the combine, but all that dude does is shoot. Donte actually does use his athletic ability in-game fairly well. I think when you are that size is hard to consistently show it off, especially in the college game. He is small, but he has good size for a PG. If he plays with Rubio, Mitchell, or Exum he can defend the smaller player of the two guards.Im not sure what to think about Donte. I like some things about him, but some other things I dont.
He can shoot and his defense looks pretty good. His vertical is great. He can pass. He played big in the championship game,...
But his wing span worries me a little bit. On most his dunks it doesnt look like 6'5" guy with a 42" vertical. His handle just looks ok. He doesnt really shake his defender. Doesnt have a great crossover. First step is just ok. I dunno. I feel like he should be getting more out of athleticism. Maybe he can. Maybe it looks different against NBA talent.
Where do people go to get good information on the draft now that DX has sold out?

I'm not as against draft him as I was when it was first getting hyped up. I can see the positives of it. Like his ceiling role could be similar to what Eric Gordon has been the last few years in the league? They tested out nearly the exact same athletically, but Gordon is a little longer. Obviously Gordon was more talented and explosive coming out, but injuries zapped him of a lot of that.

@Gas too.
One thing I remember hearing about guards years ago, was that in college, their athleticism in the halfcourt set, may not stand out because the three-point line is so short, and therefore the defenders are much more tightly clustered then they will be in the NBA. In college, once a guy tries to blow by, it's easier for a defender on the wing to sort of step in and help out, or the defender in the post to challenge a shot. In the NBA, at 23-24 feet out, a guard will have more room to maneuver and another step or two to sort of get by a guy in the NBA. The court is not only deeper but wider in that sense, so help defenders on the wings can't easily as step over to help either. Knowing that, these guards, upon driving, can also take slightly different angles, thus going a little wider at times as well.
One of my relatives is a huge Maryland fan. Said Huerter stinks on d and is raw and basically fine if we just want a guy to come in and shoot the 3. Sort of reminds me of that elite 3 point shooter about 5-7 years ago. Forget his name. He bounced around a bunch. Was on the Nets a couple years.
Oh that guy. Yep
