Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

Did anyone see that tank job by the Suns vs Portland? Holy **** that was an all timer. Up 17 with 7 minutes left. Tied with 20 second left, Suns inbounding the ball. They can hold it for the last shot. They get a ****ing 5 second violation (looks like it's on purpose to me...) and Dame hits a game winning layup.

Love Jimmy and sad to see him go down but this definitely bodes well for some more potential losses for the Wolves and gives the Jazz another opportunity to climb the ladder. I'm personally hoping for a 3-6 match-up with them.

This is going to be a fun end to the season. Would be nice for Portland to lose games like tonight, but if the Jazz take care of business (get to 44-45 wins) they will make the playoffs. Too many of the other teams are playing each other. Its going to be tough. Jazz have 12 games left against possible playoff teams, and half of those are at home. Need to win the games against non playoff teams and win 3-4 of the other 12. Stealing one against Houston will be a good start.

GS did similar things to get Barnes and rob Utah. Of course, the W's would have actually thrown the ball inbounds; it would have just been to an opposing player. W's knew how to tank believably; Suns are novices.
 
The nice thing about this is that so many games affect Utah...

Just today alone...
I'm cheering for Bucks>Pelicans
Cavs>Spurs
Rockets>Nuggets

Hopefully a couple of those fall our way. Jazz are still a couple down in the loss column so we definitely do not control our own destiny.
 
Tanking teams on a 44 game losing streak. They can't allow a single win:

I'm not so confident that we are going to beat the Rockets the way we have been playing the last couple of games. The Jazz need to play that game with some playoff intensity.

I am hopeful, but not confident.
 
The Jazz have 24 games left after the All Star break. They probably need to win at least 14 of those to make the playoffs - that puts them at 44-38 only a year after losing their only All Star. They’re a couple of games out of the playoffs right now, but should have one of the more favorable schedules - lots of home games, adequate rest and several games against teams that are currently out of the playoffs (many of whom are tanking their asses off.)

They’re 1-1, 22 left to go. In all reality, they playoffs started last Friday. They need to gain control of their own destiny, and then take advantage of the opportunity. It’s now or never. Leading the team to the playoffs in his first year would be HUGE for Donovan’s development, regardless of who they play or how far they manage to go.
