Jazz 2017 Salary Cap Issues - Forcing Trades this Draft??

I've said this 1000 times but I'll say it again, thank god no one on this board is our GM.
You're probably one of those who never wanted to trade AK, Booz or Deron either.

That trade will be available in January as well.
Hayward is practically an expiring contract. His value is highest right now. We would get pennies on the dollar at the deadline.

Why do you assume that all the Jazz players are going to get the MAX? I find it funny how guys are willing to trade anyone on our team for another draft pick but then think our guys are worth the MAX.

DL's job is to make good financial decisions, so I will let him figure it out. However, right now it is ridiculous to panic and just start trading our experienced core guys for the "potential" of the new kid on the block because they might leave.

Jazz have already gone on the record that Hayward is not available. I can't even understand why you want to trade Favors for an unproven third pick who may or may not be any good. Favors plays both ends of the court, likes Utah and can be a 20 10 guy if he were given the ball more.

Over the next 3 years, I like Lyles more than Favors. GS fans didn't realize how good Green was and clung to David Lee. Once Green emerged, Lee became expendable but had lost all trade value.

As for Hayward, he's the best player on our team. I would love to see him support our #1 and maybe #2. He says he's looking forward to the build, but a dissappointing year might lead him to reconsider. I just really hesitate to build it around him. For him to stay, Hood, Lyles and Exum have to evolve to be badass for us to be relevant.

If we did trade Favors, it would be for multiple picks, not just the #3.

There is a very good chance Simmons isn't as good as Favors or Hayward, why would we trade both of them for him?

We don't have to do anything now... See what we look like and if need to move someone later then we do it. This may be the reason we are confident on Hayward. If he leaves there is no cash crunch.

It worked out just fine for Golden State so I guess we should follow that same path. For the record I think that if Lyles becomes better than Favors it is at least 3 seasons away. I dont want this team to re-tank and be a bottom dwelling team for 3 more years which is what we will be if we trade Favors and Hayward away for picks.
