Jazz acquire DeMarre Carroll from Denver

I think your logic is based upon the 100 years of sucky Clippers history. Previously, they didn't give a damn about winning.

I think you're in error. This is not your typical Clippers. Your typical Clippers would not have gone out and signed Billips, Mo Williams, and surrounded their high draft picks with good players. Not would they have made the CP3 trade.

They would have used Blake for all he was worth, sold a few tickets and jerseys, and once his rookie deal was up, let him leave (and be right back into the lottery drafting another top guy).

Someway and somehow the whole Clippers' train of thought has been changed. I'm pretty sure their management is actually trying to win now. I think they see an opportunity with Kobe and the Lakers in decline and with the young core they have, to really put a dent into the Lakers' flagship and permanently convert their cheap *** bandwagon fans.

Right now in LAX you have stories selling BOTH Clippers and lakers jerseys. This never happened before.

I don't think the Clippers want to flush that away with a few stupid trades (like giving something of value for Raja Bell).

Notice how I said "but seriously" right after asking that rhetorical question?

Oh and PS, you seem to be forgetting the fact that they traded away the pick that ended up being the first overall for.....Mo Williams?

What PGs are available via trade?

The only one who I can think of is Rondo.. and with Rondo for Gasol rumors, what about Rondo for Jefferson and Harris?

I'm not saying its likely, I am just trying to think of a move that would A) Involve moving Jefferson and B) Have us getting a PG or Shooter

Take this for what it's worth, but I saw this on twitter...

Utah Jazz Employee @JazzEmployee
In regards to DeMarre Carroll signing...be patient Jazz fans, something (someone) else is on the horizon.

...this person claims to have inside information on the franchise, but rarely tweets (not once in January). Not whether to believe this or not, but there has to be a trade coming.

Wasn't it already reported that KOC was going to add a wing for the intense road stretch? Not saying there isn't a deal in the works, but this may just be an insurance policy.

I say Howard to the Lakers for their 1st this year. They'd still have the Mavs 1st (top 20 protected) in this coming draft and they've been treading water and are in desperate need for a spark, help on the wing, and some depth. This covers all those bases and is a fairly legit addition for one last run at a title at what is a nominal cost.

Seems like the Jazz want the guy for keeps. He will be attending tomorrow's practice per twitter, and the general vibe seems to indicate the Jazz are planning to keep him. Since he's nowhere close to starter material, we can be fairly certain the Jazz are to trade a big. So who's it going to be? Possibly Evans. That would pretty much trade a 13th man off the bench with another. It is possible, but I doubt it. That means the most likely possibility is Millsap or Jefferson, with the intention of having Carroll as the 4th big, while moving Favors to starting spot.

I am calling it now. Jefferson for a PG or a wing, with the latter being more likely.

Edit: Unless Carroll is a wing. Which would guarantee it's Howard/CJ +Harris for a PG!
