I think your logic is based upon the 100 years of sucky Clippers history. Previously, they didn't give a damn about winning.
I think you're in error. This is not your typical Clippers. Your typical Clippers would not have gone out and signed Billips, Mo Williams, and surrounded their high draft picks with good players. Not would they have made the CP3 trade.
They would have used Blake for all he was worth, sold a few tickets and jerseys, and once his rookie deal was up, let him leave (and be right back into the lottery drafting another top guy).
Someway and somehow the whole Clippers' train of thought has been changed. I'm pretty sure their management is actually trying to win now. I think they see an opportunity with Kobe and the Lakers in decline and with the young core they have, to really put a dent into the Lakers' flagship and permanently convert their cheap *** bandwagon fans.
Right now in LAX you have stories selling BOTH Clippers and lakers jerseys. This never happened before.
I don't think the Clippers want to flush that away with a few stupid trades (like giving something of value for Raja Bell).
Notice how I said "but seriously" right after asking that rhetorical question?
