Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Y’all are going soft. 3 unprotected picks is the price just to get on the call.
Right. I think a fair deal is 3 unprotected picks and Obi, then a protected first for taking back Fournier's salary. That would be the dollar on the dollar deal. We should be able to get an equivalent deal to that at any time over the next year, and there is no reason for us to pull the trigger on that now. If the Knicks really want Don now, then they are going to have to beat that deal.

Now that the Knicks have offered 5 picks, I don’t believe there is a universe where a deal gets done for less than 5 total picks. I don’t know why anyone is talking about us taking back less picks than are being offered.

I appreciate the distinction between protected and unprotected picks, but does anyone see Ainge letting them dip below 5 total? I sure don’t, and I honestly think Ainge wants to set the pick record more than anything else.

I think a deal gets done if the Knicks unprotect (or very lightly protect) one more of their picks and add Grimes/Quickley, or if they unprotect or lightly protect one of their picks plus throw in another of the junk picks for a total of 6 picks.

I don't think the teams that had interest in Durant and the teams interested in Donovan have much crossover. I think the suns and celtics were probably the only teams with real interest in Durant.

Knicks fans: lolz who will give you more than 5 picks?!?!?

Jazz fans: A few teams have their own picks and can get a few more pretty easily.

Knicks fans: Those teams ain’t stupid enough to give you that… only us!!!!
