Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Knicks guys on ESPN radio told their fans to be prepared on them giving up 6 1sts for Donovan. 3 of which will be their own unprotected picks.

They said the biggest hurdle is not the picks is they don’t want to gut their bench in the deal as well.

Heck we don't really want them to gut their bench either. Take off some restrictions and keep your bench. Done deal.
 
Count me in with Mini Van. I’m hoping Danny has already told Leon and the Knicks to get ****ed.

That franchise has tampered behind the scenes with Donovan for over 3 seasons now. Hell, they were even bold enough to send the entire NYK front office to Dallas so they could sit 2-3 rows behind the Jazz bench in Game 1 vs the Mavs a few months ago. A tacky move that had GM’s across the league pissed off.

Now they wanna try and pull this fake tough guy ********? Contrary to what people in NY may think, Danny Ainge and the Utah Jazz can launch a successful rebuild without any cooperation from the Knicks what so ever. Hell, considering what we got outta Minnesota, I’d dare say we’re already ahead of schedule.

Did anyone else notice Woj say "I do think the NETS... excuse me, the Knicks" at minute 1:01 here?

Man, if you want to be the king of New York as far as basketball goes, just be better than the Knicks. Everything else is a sweetener locally, right? So, at this point, wouldn't the Nets get all sorts of desperate to get Spida before the knickerbocker do? Wouldn't that be the New Yorkian heist one could see happening?

Irving for Westbrook and 2 draft picks

Simmons, youth, and draft picks for Spida

Sell KD on playing either Donovan. If he doesn't buy in, then get all the assets you can from KD and build with the king of New York and a boat load of assets from KD.

DO IT TO SCREW THE GUYS ACROSS TOWN AND PRINT THAT BLING BABY.

Probably a bit silly as far as the details go here but the point is that Spida makes as much sense to Brooklyn as it does to New York.

And EVEN IF Brooklyn wasn't sold on Donovan... just being loud about wanting him forces your neighbor to Ante up. They have nothing to lose in "wanting Donovan".

The Jazz can launch a successful rebuild without the help of the Knicks or Donovan Mitchell. He can be here for the tank or he can go somewhere else for the tank and he can like it or not like it. The Utah Jazz don't have to care.

They have to do KD/Kyrie trades to get the ammo (kinda hilarious to me). We also have to give the impression we’d be willing to take Ben Simmons back.

Woj has a stutter, wouldn't read into it. It's painful to listen to him on TV. You can tell he's very uncomfortable. Not a natural at all when it comes on air.

That'd be it, issue is they don't have the expirings to make an outright match for Don possible. The most basic package not involving a third team is Fournier, Rose and a shedload of picks for Don. We'd need eat Fournier's contract as part of it. Granted, it's not overly horrible for making the deal, but Utah doesn't want salary beyond this year if possible.

It’s also a super natural slip… between nets and Knicks.

I think the Nets would love Donovan but they would need to get a bunch of draft stuff from Phoenix and maybe LA to make something work. Then there is the Ben Simmons issue. We can absolutely use them as a threat… same with Miami. We will break them.
