Jazz are shopping Jefferson and Millsap according to ESPN

This is what I'm thinking. Even though he's a great talent, AJ might not be the best fit for this young team.

Agreed. Jefferson's style of play just doesn't seem to allow for a lot of growth from those around him. He has a tough time finding the open man when he is double and triple teamed. If any of you have played with a guy that tries to find his shot despite being double and triple teamed you know how frustrating it is, I am sure the other guys feel the same way.

Really don't buy that they are shopping Jefferson, and especially not buying that they are shopping both Jefferson AND Millsap. Kanter's a project and isn't ready. To me, it seems like a pretty ideal situation to have him play behind Jefferson for a while. I would bet Jefferson's value goes up this season also.

As down on Jefferson as I am, I agree with this. It doesn't make a lot of sense to trade him prior to the season, but I can see him being a force and a team that is making a run at a title being willing to give some decent pieces back in order to get him. Hold on to him initially, but he should be gone by the 1st week of March (the trade deadline).

I'm looking around the league here and wondering what players that might be available would really help the Jazz... I'm having a hard time coming up with a deal that makes sense.

I'm no trade expert, but going off some of the rumors out there this is what I'd like to see happen:

Indy gets Millsap
GS gets Granger as well as their conditional draft pick back (from us)
Jazz get Curry and take on a bad GS contract (which if it's awful we could amnesty their a$$).

Love to see us move milsap and Harris for rondo. Big al needs to stay. We need three legit bigs to be successful and trading him would be retarded.

I think you can only amnesty your own player. No way Warriors give up Curry.

Indy doesn't even let you finish your sentence before slamming the phone down.

Is Curry available?!?

Granger > Millsap

Millsap at his price > Granger at his price

The one who'd kill this thing would be GS. As Cyrone mentioned, there's probably no way they give up Curry.

From my understanding any current contract can be amnestied. There is only one per team, but you can make a trade and then amnesty someone.

This was my understanding as well. As long as the contract was signed before 7/1/11 it can be amnestied.

Only with the original team the contract was with on 7/1/11.

This is directly from the proposed tentative agreement:

Each team permitted to waive 1 player prior to any season of the CBA (only for contracts in place at the inception of the CBA) and have 100% of the player's salary removed from the team's salary for Cap and Tax purposes.

Nowhere does it say that in order to amnesty a player they currently need to be on your team.

The only pg i'd want us to give a lot up for is Curry. Lets pray that Gstate is stupid and decides to stick with ellis.

I remember reading it on true hoop but it appears to have not been included in the current agreement.
