What's new

Jazz claim Joe Ingles and Jordan Hamilton off waivers.

two good (but supremely overrated) jazzfanzers arguing about a couple of pointless things................... about as good as you can get in the offseason??

lol

Do you not remember how many times last year Ingles would jump into the air to make a pass and turn it over? He isn't on Hayward's IQ level.

Hayward does the same thing. Ingles' intelligence is the main reason he's in the NBA, the way he controls the tempo when he has the ball, without great quickness or athleticism, finding open guys, calming the other guys down. He has nowhere near the athleticism of Hayward. It's reminiscent of Hornacek or Bird -- not to say he's anywhere near their level. But they used their intelligence to outplay players who were more athletic.

there's a difference between an education opinion and a dumb opinion. Both don't have equal merit.

Some ppl are of the opinion that coffee enemas cure cancer. This is a dumb opinion with zero merit.

Your opinion was a dumb opinion with zero merit, because you don't follow the Euroleague, can't name 5 european coaches, and can't name which teams they've coached. An educated, well-respected European body governing the Euroleague came up with a definitive list of top Euroleague contributors-- they named ten coaches, including an American, none of which included Blatt. Their opinion has merit. Yours doesn't.

Phone home.

*educated opinion

I like both Ingles and Hayward and think both players can be successful on the Jazz. Now what?

I agree with Vinyl. Hayward is a far superior player but Ingles brings positives to the table and a good man to have on your team. He's sneaky good in that opponents underestimate him and then he takes advantage.

Btw, coffee enemas don't cure cancer but they are part of a regimen that can -- the Gerson Therapy, which does it without the noxious and life-sapping treatments of chemo and radiation.

Wow, wow, wow. Ingles is a great addition folks.

He has some defensive deficiencies and it could be more exposed in the NBA, but you can trust me there are many other reasons that make this a great move. You are going to love him. He is an ex-Barca player, a crucial member of the Boomers and he was one of the fav players of David Blatt on the last year's Euroleague champion team. He's a crafty, very smart lefty player. He has nice play-making abilities ala our precious Gordo and he is excellent at P&R offense. Actually forget all, just think a Hayward Lite with sub par defense with being less TO prone.

Two things he's even better than Hayward are his dynamic shooting(he's really good at that) and his Euro-Cuts. (plus maybe his length, 6'8" with 6'10" wingspan).

But most importantly, he is FUN to watch. Believe me if he can adapt to the NBA game, the Jazz will be even more exciting and enjoyable to watch this season. I might be over-reacting now and sound like I'm overrating him but no, I'm REALLY happy with this news.
He is better at Hayward at nothing.

The only reason we got this guy is because of Exum, let's be honest.

Lolol

The dudes on the Spurs are plenty athletic.

I didn't say you have to be an athletic specimen to play in the NBA. I just said non-athletic players who have had success in lower leagues can have trouble translating their game to the NBA and can end up not amounting to ****, so to say they are automatically better than an established NBA baller is insulting (especially better than Hayward at shooting, lol).

LOL

I doubt he gets enough regular minutes to significantly impact the team, but Ingles is a really fun basketballer. There's a laconic ease to the way he plays and seems to enjoy the game. What he lacks in athleticism he makes up for in craft, reads, angles, general smarts, etc. Plus, as mentioned, he can shoot.

Has always struck me as a great guy. Typically relaxed Australian personality. Will be a good fit.
Good analysis.
