What's new

Jazz claim Joe Ingles and Jordan Hamilton off waivers.

Was Denver not a up-tempo system?

You're quite an assumer. Am I saying Denver isn't? You also made a comment about Felix after I made it apparent he didn't play well in the preseason. Are you having personal problems causing you to troll on a basketball message board?

Take your medicine.

Joe Ingles was a big time player in europe... I love his style. I still miss his Barcelona days. Hope he makes the team.

I know they play kinda different positions, but I'm hoping Ingles could play a similar role to how Matt Bonner plays for the Spurs? 5-10 minutes off the bench but good hustle and deadly from 3's.

I just asked a question.....

Both guys could be decent contributors off the bench in case of injury. Ingles had a solid FIBA tournament. Hamilton averaged just under 7 points in 16 mins, although his FG% was terrible.

I can see what Ingles brings.. but the Hamilton pick up is a real head scratcher for me. He isn't known as a neither a defender or as a shooter right? Not sure how he fits in Quin's system.

27 teams in the nba have 15 man rosters right now, so I think it's safe to say we are probably keeping all the guys at least for now.
Non-guaranteed contracts become fully guaranteed on Jan 10th, so really no need to cut a contract before then, unless am injury leaves a specific position very thin. If Burke or Exum were to go down with a long-term injury, for instance, I could see the Jazz cutting a player in order to add a PG.

I liked Hamilton coming out of UT - thought he could have an Afflalo-like game but it's been more CJ Miles-like. And in almost 1700 NBA minutes this guy has less than 100 assists and 100 free throws. That's all kind of bad news

Don't know a thing about Ingles - I watched him play his only extended minutes in the pre-season against Denver - plays hard but doesn't look like an NBA talent. Motum looked much better.

Great signings. Ingles has great bbIQ and is probably going to fit well in the system. The question is if his defensive deficiencies are going to be too much to take.

Bingo - I think this is a key reason why we've gotten Hamilton:

Newest Jazzman Jordan Hamilton shot 13 of 24 from the left corner 3 last year and 12 of 28 from the right corner - 25 of 52 from corners

Ingles is a much better player at this point in their careers, but I did think Motum was a good fit for us. Don't think we've seen the last of him.

Interesting, very interesting. It makes one wonder why they even pulled the trigger on the Felix trade. They could have waived JLIII, Murphy and Thomas easily.

Once they received the product, and unwrapped it there was a feeling of disappointment.

Europeans get really butthurt, even when you say a guy from Australia isn't as good at any facet of the NBA game than Hayward.
Europeans get butthurt when they discuss complicated stuff with the silly.
deservedly so...

add-on: I love Ingles. I love the fact that he has a spanish surname.
He is an all-hustle player with finesse, too. If you like Nocioni, you will like Ingles as well. Ingles does not play as physical as that Dogo Argentino plays, but he plays the game with passion. He is one sneaky ******* form his left side dribbles/penetrations/cuts. We will be shouting boozeresque "and-one" if he can play his game in NBA environment.

We got a 2nd round pick out of it + the money to pay Felix.
