Man, the irrational hate knows no bounds. . . The reason bringing back Millsap would mean Favors having to play center is because Millsap cannot play center. That means when he is in with Favors or with Kanter, those two will have to play center. When Favors and Kanter are in together, which will happen often, Favors would move to PF. Kanter would be a full time center. If Millsap accepts a contract here, it will be obvious to everyone involved, including him, that he will have to work for and earn his starting role. If he wants that handed to him, there are plenty of other teams he can go to (but probably not win.) Millsap will take no time from Favors. We need a stretch 4, and Millsap at a good price (and ONLY at a good price) is the best we can do.
As far as adding vets, hell yes, as long as we GET A GOOD DEAL! Always Add Assets. Be looking for players below 26 or so, that we can get a good deal on, then frontload those contracts. You want to get a serviceable or decent player at the deadline, have capspace. You want to get real talent, have capspace AND assets. That way we can avoid trading our young talent. Much rather give up mayo than Kanter to get that star player.
Also, NO to Bynum. That is not a good asset.
