Jazz fanz and ALL of Utah in a total state of "denial!"

Yeah? Where are the Jazz gonna go? Pittsburgh? Oh, how about Vancouver? Wait... that didn't work the first time. OK... how about Seattle? ha ha

Vegas, Albequerque, Kansas City, Baltimore, Columbus, San Diego and Seattle are all cities with over 500k population without an NBA franchise. Not to mention St. Louis and Kansas City.

Heck, Mexico City, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton and Missisaugua all have over 700k.

You've stated your opinion, loud and clear. Nobody agrees with you.......Personally, I believe someone who deliberately antagonizes an entire forum the way you've consistently done over the years should be banned....Can we all move on from this stupid thread, or is there something else you want to say?

...I just want to say that I have been a loyal Jazz fan for many years! I was on this board when many of you were still in diapers! (Well, maybe not that long!) This board was always candid and frank about the state of Jazz basketball and we stated our minds as well as our opinions! Now, all of a sudden, your accusing me of committing a crime just because I'm giving you my candid assessment of the current state of Jazz basketball in the "hip hop" era dominated by the "hip hop" culture in today's "hip hop" NBA! ("A Few Good Men" classic line:"You accusing me of committing a CRIME? This is funny!) I stand by my original statement in the title of this thread: Most Jazz fanzs are in a state of denial!

In order to have a viable franchise that makes money you have to have 2 things: 1) A competitive team. 2) A watchable product. The Jazz have neither and will not be changing that anytime soon! Who is going to pay good money to watch a team that is going to struggle to win 10 games a season the next 3 or 4 years? Who is going to pay good money to watch a "product" that struggles night in and night out to make 35% of there shots and regularly has more turnovers than assists? NOBODY! ESPN won't put the Jazz on T.V. nor will TNT more than once or twice a year! Heck, they barely put us on during the Stockton and Malone era!
You do know that the Clippers made tons of money for years while being the worst franchise in the league? The team is fun to watch, if you are not a moran.
.
Please don't say "us" while referring to a team you want and are advocating leaving the state. And obviously don't like right now.

Meh

He is abrasive in the way he states his points, but usually, imo, he brings valid points (valid meaning there can be an actual valid position for either side) presented in such a way that people react to him and not the content.

Well they explains why the clippers moved out of la after 2 decades of crap and more lottery picks than any other team in the league before they landed Chris Paul.

The way the cities borders are in SLC paints a confused picture. It makes more sense to compare cities by tv markets and metro populations.

metro population numbers for Utah are also odd in that a metro population is defined as sharing a commute but salt lakes metro pop. includes with two small counties that don't really share a commute and the two larger ones that do share a commute are separate.

So for the purposes of the NBA(market size likely to attend on a regular basis) I would use the population of the Wasatch front minus Box Elder. (over 2 million)

This is more correct. But also in out market are the rural areas like southern Utah and all of Idaho, which don't have their own teams. These areas are unique, because they should be in their own market, but don't have teams.

Yeah and they would be included in the TV market, just not when considering likely attendance. Salt Lake being such an isolated market definitely helps. Salt Lake is in no way a large market but if you actually look it up you might be surprised to find that we are larger than places like San Antonio. That's why even though they have had one of the best teams in the league the last decade they are among the cheapest tickets in the NBA.

There are a surprising amount of people from southeast idaho where I currently live who make it to at least a couple jazz games a year. The salt lake market is just crazy like that.

I think I remember seeing something like the jazz had about the middle of the pack as far as market size.

yeah. The franchises isolation from it's competition and the added boost it gets from Mormons will keep it safely in Utah for years to come.

...thank you for clarifying my position and it was nicely worded! By the way, can't believe Jazz fanzs are still coming out in droves to support the team! Over 17,000 in attendance at the Spurs game last night? Unless, of course, half of them came disguised as "empty seats!"

No one has address these points of serious concern! Utah Jazz attendance will be at an all time low this year....true or false? NOBODY wants to sign with Utah.....true or false? The quality "hopper" players despise the city and the team...true or false? Heck, even the fundamentally sound players want to leave! (See exhibit 1...Gordan Hayward)

The Jazz are leaving Utah? And you know this HOW? Lets see......true, false and false. I remember you from the past, are you ever going to change into a thinking person?

True...to be expected in a losing year
False...Just because something is repeated so many times doesn't make it true
False...Players like to win, they like to have a significant role and most of all they like money...if they can get that in Utah they'll take that in Utah
False...Hayward felt like he could prove he's worth more than the offer the Jazz gave him. He might be right. The Jazz can keep him if they want him.

So Boozer and Memo are NOBODY, I guess.

Fact is we haven't ever really been in a spot to woo a big-name FA. When we were, we got Boozer who was one of, if not the top FAs in his class.

Utah Jazz attendance most likely to be one of the most lowest in Utah Jazz history.....Maybe
"NOBODY" (not sure of the caps) wants to sign with Utah...False
The quality "hopper" despises the city and the team....False...If we have a winning system and we pay the same cash as any other team we will get "hoppers" as you refer to.

So with these questions you have not proved that the Jazz will move out of Utah but you have qualified yourself as a spunk bubble.....

...you actually think Boozer and Memo were TOP free agents? What have you been smoking??? Both were DRASTICALLY overpaid by the Jazz, could be argued they earned less than half of what they were paid....and were pathetic contracts even when they were in their prime! If you poled all NBA players in the league right now....and the top 20 picks in next years draft....the team they would least likely want to play for would be the Utah Jazz hands down....true or false?
