Jazz Getting a New GM?

Jim Burton: Lindsey was the only guy the Jazz offered the job to. KOC said he verified Lindsey's credentials with Gregg Popovich

I'd like more depth and choice but Popovich is a source I would trust to shoot straight with me.

KOC:

Enes is in working out (in Utah) right now. He is a willing worker and is making small steps.

Like between the legs dunk? I won't forgive Enes for ditching the Turkish NT unless he shows worthwhile improvements new season.

From all I've heard, it's about time the Jazz step up analytically. Having worked in San Antonio and Houston, this dude's definitely been exposed to in-depth basketball analytics.

i love hearing some of the next-gen mindset coming from this guy. i know nothing about him, but have long felt that the jazz needed to go see "moneyball" or have lunch with hollinger or something. the fact that bell started half the season is proof enough of that.

Yup.

Utah has been behind in analytics/tracking/advanced #s. Wonder if/when hiring from Spurs tree will change that.

I'll go with this...

David Locke: Two great quotes about Lindsey from NBA people "I don't know him but everything I have ever heard he is truly phenomenal and a star."

they had their little defensive grading system, but i never heard that they were using it to make decisions, and i'm not even sure they're doing it post-sloan.

plus, you can't really use it to analyze potential jazz signees since the whole metric is based on jazz game film and a coach's/video coordinator's call on whether a guy was in/out of the defensive system on a given play.

Just to let you know, Maynor was traded to get rid of Harpring's contract. And Brewer was traded in order to ensure they could sign Jefferson the next year after Boozer left.

I was thinking the same thing.
