I guess the front office needs to decide how much they want to put into this season. Is it playoffs or bust? Do we sacrifice assets to help us this season? Or do we let our top end carry us as far as they can this year and prop them up in the offseason?
I don't think it's playoffs or bust. Compete and improve or bust would be a better bet.
Ingles, Johnson and Whitey are mediocre players.
Go the NBA.com website under tranactions are puruse the guys that were just cut. There is about 100 of them. There must be somebody in that list that could help the Jazz.
After the first game of the season many Cougar fans thought they were destined for a NY6 bowl game. Lets not overreact to one game.
Going from Gobert and Kanter to Gobert and Pleiss is an obvious massive downgrade..
Lyles is more a long term project. He better pan out though...
"Devin Booker, Suns
The sweet-shooting 18-year-old off guard was the lone bright spot in the Suns’ ragged loss to the Mavericks, scoring 14 points on just seven shot attempts."
Strongly disagree.
Disagree all you want, it's true. I'm the OG Kanter hater and I can see this.
Talent wise it's a downgrade, but the minutes that gobert plays are a huge upgrade. It would have been nice to get a better player than pleiss but having Kantner gone is a huge plus. The guy sucks. He might score and rebound, but a team will never win with him as a major contributor.
OKC is going to win this year man. It looks like Kanter is going to be averaging around a double/double.
Would you be happier if the Jazz had kept Kanter and paid him the max?
How daft are you?
I was one of a few people who strongly opposed drafting Kanter. I can't stand the guy, but he is better than Pleiss/Withey and our depth is worst without him. I dont want him or to pay him that much, but our depth is worse without him ,it's just a fact.
Reading comprehension, champ. I didn't ask that because I thought you'd answer in the affirmative, I asked that to get the bolded part out of you - the only part of this that actually matters. With Kanter, ultimately the Jazz are better off without him and his contract. Nothing else is relevant.
