Jazz Just Signed Trevor Booker According To Woj

Booker passes better, shoots better an is not far behind on finishing down low. I don't see how even if Kanter lights it up from outside he is more valuable on either end of the floor than Booker. At least right now. I don't mind Kanter starting for now. I like Booker's skill set with Rudy off of the bench. But if Kanter wants more minutes then he better start playing far better than he is. And that is on both ends of the floor.

I said on offense. I have mentioned nothing about defense. I was simply arguing that the better 3pt shooter helps his team more.

Anyone know (GVC?) if the Jazz could release him next summer (he has a non-guaranteed deal with only $250K owed if the Jazz cut him) and negotiate a longer-term deal?

The thing I like about Booker 3's opposed to Kanter 3's, is that Booker can make defenses pay for not closing out properly with his dribble drive game. Even if Kanter became a pretty good 3pt shooter, I don't think he would ever be able to dribble past anyone on the perimeter.
I beg to differ. Coincidencially, last night, Kanter had driven inside and left a layup in the third or fourth quarter, using his body and covering the distance all the way from top of the arc to the rim. I think Kanter is more talented on offense. But Booker is far more contributive because of his BBIQ and fire that are much much higher than Kanter's.

And also, I respect Trevor Booker a lot because I didn't know who he was before the Jazz transfer and now I can clearly see that he knows the value of the money he earns. He knows how hard every honest penny in the world is earned. I hope Kanter finds his value-knowing side again and gets on with his work. His surname means "sweating blood" in English and he has it in his blood. So anyhow, I truly respect Favors and now I respect Booker. They know the value of the position they are in, the role they are given, the responsibility.

One can only wish for these young players to comprehend the one lesson that Quin Snyder tries to teach them. Enjoy the game. Let people think "Man those guys love to play!" (from his advise to Gordon)

In a damn heartbeat! Regardless of how much he does or doesn’t play, he should come back to Utah if this happens!

That **** was so amazing. Never seen anything like it before.

Notice quin subs booker in for Rudy right then. Was quin planning for booker to take that particular shot? Was that the play called? Had they been practicing that in practices for a scenario like that?

Is Book a free agent at the end of the season. If so, the Jazz should get him, especially if they aren't able to keep Favors, but even so, a great role player.

I mean if he's cool chilling on the bench being moral support and a cheerleader then maybe. I'm a big fan of Booker, I like him a lot. But I don't really see a need in our rotation for what he provides. I think our rotation is set. I'd kinda rather have the roster spot Mitrou-Long currently holds available for 10 day contract signees. The Jazz will have the option to look at multiple young players. Maybe they'll find another diamond in the rough.

T-Book is one of those few guys that even if he doesn’t fill a glaring need, you look to add him when you’re in the midst of a playoff run. He’s an A+ locker room guy, he’s got the type of attitude that you want to expose a young Mitchell to, he loves the team/city and the team/city love him.

He might not play much, but then again, should the Jazz find themselves in the playoffs, he’s the type of guy that becomes invaluable when you’re in the middle of a grind it out type of tough playoff series. To be quite honest, I understood why the Jazz let him walk but I’ve been waiting for his return since the very second he left.

Plus, the idea of a roster that has Gobert/Favors/Crowder/ and Booker makes me fully chub up. Is there a tougher group of 4 guys in the league? Hell, is there a tougher group of 4 guys on this planet?

I'm sure he could find a better situation than here, but I'm about having the most lovable bunch of mother-****ers the league has ever seen, so of course *I* am down to nab him.

Is there any evidence his a great locker-room guy when he isnt playing (and I mean at all because I dont think there any minutes on this team for him)? I dont think Booker is at the point in his career when he wants to settle for being the glorified player/coach who doesnt play.

That isnt meant to be a knock on him. I'd just think he'd want to be on a team where he would play more, like New Orleans or something.

I don't think there are more than 5 players who would understand quin' s offense, style, defensive requirements, and that could add more to this season than Trevor Booker. I would love it!
