Jazz May Be A Part of 3-Team Deal w/ Clippers

I'd welcome back Mo.
And KOC has always liked him. Said letting him go was his biggest mistake. MO would be a good fit and a great way to use the TPE. As Kanter and Favors play more minutes, we need more scoring, especially if Jefferson or Millsap are traded.

Mo Williams is a perfect fit with a post centric offense. Still think Harris is better, but Mo Will can space the floor.

I liked Mo as well. He can hit the three probably than anyone we have on the current roster and he was pretty clutch as well...

He's definitely a decent player and that is what makes this appealing to me. If we get any additional assets it's a bonus, but just Mo for nothing isn't half bad.

It's not Mo for "nothing", it's Mo for rented cap space. I don't think Mo's value equals the rented cap space so they should get something back in the form of a pick or cash. A 1st is unlikely, but a 2nd should be a given. THEN being able to aggressively shop Harris should be an ancillary benefit, not the sum benefit of acquiring Mo.

Actually, I think CBA rules require we get back at least a 2nd. So really, it should be better than the usual Future 2019 2nd rounder, and something a little juicier.

Would love to have Mo back. And I doubt it means we are not trying to move up to draft a PG. Either way having Mo for a year is great.

All I'm saying is that our cap space THIS YEAR was not likely a huge asset, and this is a pretty good use of it, especially if we bring in an additional draft pick.

i think this is a great pick up for the TE. IMO, this could be the signal that another move could be down the line, perhaps packaging Harris with Al or Paul? Could that be the GS trade that PKM was talking about for the #7? Inquiring minds want to know...

It will definitely improve our team a little, but Mo isn't taking the Jazz to a different level or anything. But I say what the hell go for it.

The real question is, given Mo's contract situation, why are we interested in a one-year rental of a 30 year old point guard?

I'd trade Okur for Mo and a 2nd. Sounds good to me. Also doesn't screw up our cap plan for next summer. IF we can get a 1st rounder in addition even better, but, if we start getting greedy they probably just send him to the Lakers instead.

KOC has the better leverage here. Dallas doesn't want to take salary back from the Clippers to dump Odom. And we can make that happen. Dallas' leverage is Odom only costs them 3 million-ish once he's waived, but they want that cap space that we're providing. So you have to make them pay for that.

Only thing that concerns me is that MO has been even less durable than Harris. Take away his rookie season and he's averaged 66 games over the last 8. And he ain't exactly a spring chicken. He's actually 1 year older than Devin. Better shooter than Harris, but their assist totals are about the same. Mo is also 2" shorter.

That said, I can't think of a much better use for the TPE. Even if Harris is on the team through the deadline, Mo can get some of his minutes in a 2-PG lineup...with the understanding Harris is going to be dealt. Hopefully, Williams would re-sign with the Jazz after next season, but if the Jazz get a young PG in a separate deal, he can develop this season and then take over if Mo doesn't return.
