A few potential tweets involving the Jazz (that didn't happen) flying around this morning so thought it would be good to post them all here once they come to light...

It's probably not a coincidence that the Jazz waited to sign Trey Lyles until shortly after the Warriors traded David Lee.

Depending on the cap, the Jazz might've been able to fit Lee's salary by merely cutting Trevor Booker with Lyles' smaller hold.

To add to @kpelton and @ZachLowe_NBA, I know Jazz got/are getting calls from teams interested in dumping salary. Still could happen.

holy F, man, if this hold up was all for a salary dump involving Lee..... lmao

Not sure what is the obsession with Neto but here goes...

Agree, and I think Pleiss, Neto and Booker will be on it. Jody Genessy added,

@DJJazzyJody Absolutely. However, I suspect Jazz fans only have 1 week left to wonder. Come July 16th, the roster will be pretty well set.

Boston got Lee, so why don't we give them a quick call and see if Kelly Olynick is available. I don't know if he can play the 5, but he has a nice touch to spread the floor with either Favs or Gobert.

Seems really strange what BOS is trying to do... they keep bringing in players that will ruin their tank (Isiah Thomas last year, Lee this year).. meanwhile they don't really have a true star to build around.

They've got quite a few picks from other teams but those teams are unlikely to be bad intentionally ....

its the east man. There is no SOLID tank. It's all up for grabs...and Boston did quite well last year towards the end.

Some of their picks have been really weird also... Smart over Randle? Rozier was a reach this year they could even have traded down? Just strange...

Well we do seem to want to make the playoffs this year... Lee would have been an upgrade on Booker for sure.

If the Jazz handed out a huge trade exception and Booker, then they would have asked for Harrison Barnes as compensation.

OK but DL did say he's happy with wing rotation AS IS. Not sure Barnes is enough of an upgrade to move the needle.

He's the only real asset that they have to trade. The Warriors were lucky enough to find a team that was as desperate to dump a contract as Golden State was. Seems like a strange trade.

Glad the Warrios still have to either A.) take a $10 million bath to stretch Wallace or B.) pay a lower tax penalty (but still be limited by their salary cap for this season). There's only so much adding or subtracting to a roster that the Warriors can do above that tax line. Erode their depth and if injuries hit. . . they're screwed.

I think it probably came down to picks. 2019, 2021, guaranteed, protections, etc. I doubt Barnes was ever on the table, since trading him and Lee would significantly erode their frontline.

Agreed. Making the same mistakes we did after Stockton and Malone left. Building through the draft seems better way to go. Takes longer to rebuild but in the long run....

pardon me... It probably came down to a sexy threeway with Paul George.

I think it's more or less a given that the Jazz are floating Trevor Booker's non-guaranteed deal and likely Trey Burke to see what it might yield--player, picks, etc.

There are still a few FAs I'd take a look at.

Also, David Lee would be an upgrade offensively from Trevor Booker. He also passes, rebounds and has experience in an open, free-flowing system the Jazz want to run. That would have been a good pick-up for the Jazz.

Ok Jody Gennesy 2.0

No.

No thanks.

I'll keep Booker.

I'd rather have Booker than Lee... Not sure what the hell Ainge is doing... He want to get a roster full of undersized shooting guards who are good on defense and athletically challenged but skilled big guys who don't play defense.
