Jazz Offseason Plan

This would be awesome if they can unload Favors. It is time to find out if Udoka is an NBA player or not. Rudy is not getting any younger.

I really like the Butler pick. So much so that I have a little more confidence heading into the offseason. Based off of everything I'm seeing with Conley's contract, I would rather do the following this offseason:

Trade Bojan to Charlotte for Terry Rozier
Sign and Trade Conley to Boston for Smart, Tristan Thompson and a 1st
Trade expiring Thompson and a 2nd rounder for Nance

OVERALL
Add Rozier, Smart, Nance and a 1st.
Lose Mike, Bojan and a 2nd
Have a tough, resilient team that can really defend. Yes Rozier and Smart are expirings. If they win here, we keep one or both. If they don't, we would have ample cap space next summer. We could sign and trade them elsewhere.

I'd trade Bogey only if it get us one of Markkanen or John Collins.

Jazz now need an athletic and skilled 4/5 to be a reliable rotation player.

Gobert / <-- Big Hole --> / Dok
<-- Big Hole --> / Royce / Brantley
Bogey / Ingles / Hughes
Mitchell / Clarkson / Oni
Conley / Butler / Forrest

Niang probably walks in this scenario. Brantley and Morgan are on thin ice.

That's a top 40 to top 20 player. Not sure it is easily or realistically doable.

Jazz need a big wing who can space the floor and guard other big wings and forwards. There's clearly a big hole in the roster.

I mean, yeah, the Jazz need a Jerami Grant or Christian Wood. At a minimum, I guess you can plug in a Nic Batum.

Nance or Markannen is my vote. I would love to supercharge the offense even more with Markannen - I think Gobert helps with his flaws. I don't know how you would do it though but he is my number one

I think the Jazz need players that other teams don't want to play against. Guys that are going to stay in the opponent's face for the entire game. Guys like PJ Tucker, Jrue, KCP, annoying guys.

Bojan had one of the best halves in the history of the playoffs in terms of shooting. We lost the game. We need more bulldogs. We need guys so good at defense that the other team wears down over time. That won't happen with Conley or Bojan. People don't worn down guarding or getting guarded by those guys. Don needs to step up his defense too, but at least he will wear your *** down as you try to defend him.

I just don't think a team built around Conley, Rudy, Don, Royce and Bojan has the grit. The intangibles to get over the hump.

You think Nance is available? Marvin Bagley is available. He's not ideal, but he's worth some discussion.

Cavs would be stupid to move Nance so truthfully no. Marvin Bagley... that's a good target.

Anyway, if I was JZ I would do a sign and trade for Lauri and give up JC. Then I would look to see what is out there for a six man.
