What's new

Jazz @ Oklahoma City | Sunday October 31st @ 5pm

Most of the time I agree that it would be better to start a true Center against most teams with a large post player. But with the Thunder you are wrong. Jeff Green is the starting PF and there is no way AJ keeps up with him on the outside starting along side Fes or Elson. Millsap is a much better match up with Green and Kristic may be tall but he is not a banger nor that great a rebounder. If it was me I would start who I have been starting and then bring in one of our Centers to match up to Ibaka. Who is there real shot blocker and rebounder. The thunder get more boards from Westbrook and Durant then they do from Kristic on average. This team is more like the Suns than the Lakers. So I disagree with your starting lineup for this game.
I can see your point of view, but if the team is more like the Suns than the Lakers, is repeating what the Jazz did on Thursday really the best option? Maybe you're not suggesting that, given that you are proposing to have a center come in with Ibaka. That would be fine with me.

What is not fine is to do the same old thing that hasn't been working. The wisdom of rotating the players at the 4/5 is that by the second half (or at least the fourth quarter), you know what combinations are working on that night. So if you start Millsap and Jefferson, fine; but then bring in a center in the middle or toward the end of the first quarter. (After all, AJ isn't in tip-top shape anyway.)

Just see what a center does in there beside one of your starting 4/5 players. BTW, the bigger reason to have a center in there is not just to defend the opposing C but also to deter driving from other players. Fes is the best (or least bad) at that, and Elson is probably OK. What is promising against the Thunder is that Krstic isn't dominant. Just give it a try, Jerry. Mix it up. Don't stick with this year's version of Boozer + Millsap for most of the game. See what happens. You might like it.

I can't even get the 1320 stream? Anybody else having problems with that as well?

It was fine during pre-game, but now nothing. Any luck finding 1320 radio elsewhere? I'll search around, I had this problem during preseason and found a way to listen to 1320 through a free internet radio site.

Pretty awesome that the best start in a game this season can't be watched because of some mistake by Comcast/FSN/whoever.
