I read it as...... Corbin didn't play kanter enough. And the reason is because of a stacked frontcourt.

Jv coach didn't have a stacked front court so he played jv more

Enes has some post moves and a decent touch. He reads the game slowly, and has poor vision and passing instincts/ability. That other **** matters on the offensive end too. I'm not even sure his pluses on O making up for his minuses. I don't think he's a guy you can build an offense around. That is, not until he can make the players around him better.

In the NBA,if a guy has the ability to get you 25pts/12 rebound games, he's reading the game pretty damn good.Those kind of pts and rebounds takes the pressure off all the other players and a coach who can call plays for Kanter if he's owning the paint. Anybody that can put those kind of numbers up you can make a big part of offense.
That is, not until he can make the players around him better.

What kind of BS talk is that ,it isn't Kanter's job to make everybody better around him.They get paid big f*cken $$'s too.
 
I find it interesting that Kanter gets all the excuses in the world, because "he's developing." And Burke just sucks.

1. Kanter isn't a player who can get you a reasonably efficient 25 points right now.

2. While good offenses depend heavily on individual players who can put pressure on opposing defenses, what makes players who can put that pressure on defenses valuable is their ability to then make the correct play to maximize the value of the possession. In 2012/13 (I collected some data), possessions that ended with a shot, shooting foul or turnover from an iso, post up or pick and roll ball handler were worth about 0.8 points per possession. Possessions that ended with a spot up, shot off a cut or screen, or a shot by the pick and roll roll man were worth about 1 point per possession. Making the correct read and pass is absolutely necessary.

Do you know what efficiency is ....efficiency is shooting 50% or better ,not alot of guys in the NBA do that.If you got a player that takes alot of shots and makes 1/2 of them and you say that's not "reasonably efficient" you have empty words lacking credibility.In basketball the name of the game is putting the ball in the hole ,that's why Kanter is in Utah and hasn't been dangled out there for a trade .The Jazz think he's ready to be one of the main guys to do that.The correct read and pass is going to be the guys that handle the ball the most.Kanter will do that but by no means as much as Hayward(Point Forward)orExum/Burke (PG's)

If only it were that simple. Efficiency depends on the clock/game situation, your teammates, the opposing team, what shots you could possibly take, what shots you do take, and how well you're able to connect on those shots relative to other players and other shots that could be available if you chose not to shoot (among other things...). A player who shoots 50% on wide open layups created by teammates or off offensive rebounds is incredibly inefficient. A player who's depended on to create and bail out the offense in late shot clock situations and shoots ~45% (including 3s) and draws a lot of fouls is likely very efficient.

With that said, either Al or Sap should have been traded earlier in order to clear more minutes for Kanter's development. Not Kanter's fault.


With that said, Kanter should be working on his BBIQ by playing on national teams during summers. It is here that I fault him.

So to sum it up: 90% of the posts in this thread have nothing to actually do with World Cup games? Just the same **** argued about in every other thread?

I've really been impressed with Gobert, and he is becoming my favorite player to watch on the Jazz. His p&r rotation is improving greatly, but he still needs to learn how to deal with stretch fives, but defensively I'm very happy with him. I think he is a decent passer and could be very good with the proper training. It's his offense that most people see him as limited.

1) He seems to have worked on his fts and is greatly improving here; he has a nice touch most often.
2) He has a great left hand with a soft touch.
3) Has good instincts on rolling to the basket and being in position.

All in all, he should be able to get offense from p&r, slashing, hustle plays, running the floor. I also think he has the ability to be a quality post player too.

Take a look at the move in this video :50 mark. He looks like Hakeem here. I was surprised to see him pound and move like this. I would be interested if he were forced to be more of an offensive threat.

Oh, and P.S., I think this guy can be at least as good as Hibbert.
