Jazz Playoff Watch

Dallas beat Houston. But Houston plays Memphis next; Id love to see a Jazz win @ Boston, coupled with a Houston win against Memphis...

I have been watching the Jazz since I was about 8. I'm 32 now.

And I honestly think this is the most confused I've ever been in regards to examining wins and losses. Perhaps I got dumber, or just more drunk, but I'm pretty sure the bizarre set of circumstances surrounding this season and the Warriors pick has me feeling dyslexic.

Denver @ Toronto... umm, who am I rooting for here? Advice please?

I don't think it really matters. Denver will struggle to catch us from behind and Toronto is highly unlikely to pass GS. I guess I'd root for Denver. Maybe.

AS much as I hate Denver, I gotta go with the Nuggets. GS may only win 3 or so games the rest of the season; their schedule is brutal after this week. Toronto still has a shot at winning 22-24 games. Denver has more road games remaining than Utah does, so that should ensure Utah finishes with the better record.

An interesting thought...If the playoffs started today, wouldn't we be matched up against the Spurs?

I know the Spurs have dominated us for most of the past 13 years. Yet, I really don't see that as an impossible matchup. I think just as the Grizz did last year to the Spurs, our bigs could wreck hell on the Spurs. Tim Duncan 10 years ago would have dominated Millsap/Jefferson/Favors/Kanter. Tim Duncan today?

I just don't see the Spurs being able to stop our bigs inside from scoring, rebounding, and drawing fouls.

On the flip side.... The Spurs have dominated us, have Pop, and Tony Parker usually destroys us.

Interesting.

we'll probably miss the playoffs this year.....We had this resurgence earlier in the year then fell apart the next month.

with that said though, I love what i'm seeing. Could be an amazing team in 2-3 years.

I am too lazy to look through all of these posts to see if anyone has already posted this but here is the ESPN Playoff Simulations link:

I have only played it one time this morning. I went with Hollingers rankings and it had the Jazz beating the Lakers, then beating the Mavericks and losing to OKC who then lost to the Bulls. I enjoyed seeing that.

The Jazz have the potential to match up with any team in the West in a fair contest. I doubt that the refs would allow that to happen with the Thunder, but with any other team in the West they have a shot at advancing in the playoffs. They had a shot at the 3rd seed if they beat the Hawks, now that looks like a stretch, but they still have a shot at 6, maybe even 4.

Dont forget the Red Rocket.

I looked over the remaining games. Got the Jazz finishing about 36-30 on the season, as long as they play like they've been playing recently (celtics game excluded, they had just come off a quad OT, and a game against NJ) I think this would be a good enough record to make it into the playoffs this year. Would be nice to see happen too. I mean I could see them maybe getting to the second round this year.

Even if the Spurs roster was made up entirely of D-League players, the difference in coaching between Popovich and Corbin is so huge, we'd still lose to them...

truth. is Pop the best ever? I'm serious, cuz **** philbert jackson.

delete this thread jazz aint making the playoff.
who cares
Ah, Jazz have an easier schedule than Denver and Houston. Utah could still make it as the 8th seed. Isn't that what we want...playoff experience for the young guys?

Seriously, it is ESSENTIAL the Jazz do NOT make the playoffs, IMO. If they don't, KOC will have to make changes. If they get to the playoffs, even as an 8th seed, he and Greg can continue to trim expenses and claim the young team just needs a few seasons to grow together.

I want the Jazz to be 6th or 7th in the playoffs, not 8th. 8th is the worst possible scenario we can get.
