Jazz Playoff Watch

Since houston beat dallas last night...Utah is just one game out of 4th place!

Can anyone explain why Dallas got called for a 8 second violation at the end of OT when only 5.8 seconds came off the clock?
It's at the end of the nba.com highlights.

I didnt watch the game, but according to nba.com dallas beat houston

ya got me there.... my bad...
I was focused on trying to figure out what was going on with the 8 second violation, because I haven't seen it called very often.

who should we root against todayin these 2 games minesota vs denver?
and lakers vs memphies

Minnesota because they're not going to catch us and the Lakers because they'll be a division winner and we can't catch them. But we need to finish ahead of Denver and ctach the Grizzlies.

With the Lakers and Nuggets it is harder for me to see the games objectively. I want the Grizzlies and Wolves to annihilate them.

Edit: Also Minny is whoopin that Nugget ***. 50-28 with 4:30 in the half.

No Division winners are only guarenteed a top 4 spot. And not even home court advantage if they have a lesser win total
My bad. I knew that was the case re: home court, but thought the seeds went 1-3 for division winners. Thanks for correcting me.

That said, I think Utah's ceiling is still #4.

Stupid Rockets won, but the Kings loss helps the GSW pick. Double sided di......sword...
Glad Houston won. If Utah is competing with them for just the 8th seed, then I don't care about making the playoffs because it means the Jazz are not playing very well. Utah needs to move up to 6 or better for me to feel happy about losing a lottery pick.

And Sacramento is too close to Golden State. Friday is going to be a HUGE game.

Agree. Losing both picks this year would be a major setback in our re-build. I want to stack the deck for our championship run starting in 2-3 years.

Houston's not getting there...Lowry is injured. Best they can do for us is defeat lower 7 teams.

Dragic played well last night in OT so I still think Houston will be battling the Jazz for the last spot. Personally, I will only be ok with getting in the playoffs if they Jazz are fourth or fifth seed. I also want the young guys to get minutes making the playoffs and also in the playoffs. I would rather get the second first round pick and miss the playoffs if the Jazz are going to be the 8th seed.

Dragic has played very well almost every game he has started (unrestricted free agent). Turned his ankle last night, but apparently not serious. If Patterson keeps playing like he did last night they still have a good shot at playoffs. Martin should be back at some point.

Agreed. I'm worried about the people above us more. If we lose our way out of the playoffs so be it. If we can fight for a 6th seed or higher then that would be great.
