Jazz Pre-Draft Camps and Workouts

Ryan Thompson is a guard from Rider, WTF!!! Do you mean Damion James for the other guy? Why waste our time on a guy like Jared and Ryan Thompson. We have a lottery pick, work out real talent!

Not everyone who works out is a target for the #9 pick. Some guys will work out locally - say Jared Quayle for example and then other teams will use that workout info. Other times they need workout helpers... In this case, Jared is probably a favor, but one i'm happy with.

There's this thing called the 2nd round and undrafted free agents.

Jazz have a big workout planned for Sunday June 6th.

Xavier Henry, Luke Babbit, Ryan Thompson, Damon Jones, Gordon Hayward and some others.

Jared Quayle from USU is working out on Wednesday--yawn.
Looks more like a shooting guard/small forward workout than a big workout ;).

Wish they could get Paul George in that group too.

Yeah, he looks pretty impressive in that video on DX. With the tools he had, he should have dominated more though. Maybe it was his situation which he alluded to, maybe he just needs a demanding mentor to push him. Based on the information out there, would be interesting to see him go up against this group we have coming in.

There are also trades. Maybe Utah can't get a deal done to move up. So if they're not convinced there's much of a difference between who's available at #9 and the end of the lottery, maybe they look to trade back.

Didnt see this posted anywhere...but I could have just missed it. Anyway, comment's on Monroe's workout. Also an interesting detail or two about it being an individual workout (such as: perhaps Utah asked for it that way, seems to be harder in one fashion as there are no breaks between segments, stance of only doing head to head work outs against the top rated big men in the draft.)

The PF from France is very intriguing in my opinion. It just sucks big time that we don't know his measurements and he can't workout right now. I've read he's 6'9" without shoes and has a long wingspan but who knows how accurate that is. He does look pretty chiseled and is listed, if my memory is correct, at 258. A Boozer replacement with a bit more length, more athleticism, and more defense. This would allow us to start Millsap (and have this guy back him up), S&T Boozer (or let him go which would suck), and by moving back, pick up a veteran, a defensive 5, or more picks.

With no other players scheduled to take part, Monroe will be the featured attraction on what will be his 20th birthday as well. The 6-foot-11, 247-pound Monroe averaged 16.1 points and 9.6 rebounds before leaving Georgetown after his sophomore season.

The individual workout was stipulated by Monroe's agent, David Falk, and the Jazz are not expecting Monroe to return to Utah to work out against other players as the June 24 draft draws closer.
