jazz predicted second worst team overall

People tend to underestimate the Jazz. I see this as nothing different. I say they are better than up to a dozen teams.

I guess I could see it either way. We could be atrocious if the young guys don't make a pretty big jump, but if they all really improve, we could end up being an okay team for the most part.

even if the starting 5 is ok, the bench is one of the top 3 worst in the nba. taking beidrins jefferson and rush screams of tanking. that alone will make the jazz lose every close game down the stretch. hayward is our best scorer so we know we will struggle offensively. only bright spot i see is that this teams interior defense will be the best we've seen since pre boozer okur days.

I could, not saying will but could, see the jazz a better than:

Phoenix
Sacramento
Philly
Portland
Orlando
Charlotte
Boston
Washington
Milwaukee
New Orleans
Cleveland
Minnesota

Some are stretchers but not impossible. Personally I say Jazz get 30ish wins and end up the 8th pick or so.

Might as well add Lakers to that list.

I share half of his ranking, BUT the piece of **** he's probably calling analysis/explanation shows his BBIQ is comparable with Javale

I think that the subtraction of Howard will do wonders for that team. Nash, Kobe and Gasol mesh much better without Howard. I say the finish anywhere from 5-8 seed.

Kobe won't even be ready until Christmas at the earliest.

Hard to imagine them finishing below Philadelphia, Boston and Phoenix. I think they're in that next "sucky" tier with a lot of other teams. Toronto and another bad Eastern team will have to make the playoffs. Who knows who that 8th seed will be; I know no one wants it. It likely drops that team from maybe the 8th pick to the 15th. AS for the WC, I see Portland replacing the LA Lakers in the playoffs. Pelicans also have a shot. Teams like Sacramento and Minnesota have improved. Dallas and Lakers are still good enough to finish with 35-40 wins.

As for Utah, I see a very slow start. New offensive and defensive schemes will be put in place; players are going to be finding and adjusting to their new roles; Rush and Marvin Williams are/will be coming back from major injuries; Burke is likely to struggle as a rookie PG. When it's all said and done, though, I think the talent level on the Jazz is better than many teams. Somewhere in the 5-8 range is where I'd put Utah.

The thing about all the ****ty Eastern teams is that they have to play each other.

I think the Jazz are assuredly better than the Sixers and Suns, but those are the only 2 teams I can with 100% confidence.

The Magic and Celtics are kind of toss up teams. I think we are for sure better than Orlando and Boston, but we have the disadvantage (or advantage) of having the much harder Western schedule. I'm fairly confident we will have a better record than the Magic, but Boston gives me doubts just because they have such a good veteran in Rondo.

Jazz are easily the hardest team in the NBA to predict though given the fact that it's easy to see all our young guys have potential but none of them (other than Hayward) have really been given starter-caliber minutes.

Don't forget the 2004 team. Experts said this would be the worst team ever, and they ended up winning I think 42 games for a winning record and just missing the playoffs. I think this team is way more talented.

jazz are not better than minnesota now, its very obvious.
cleveland with irving and others, and being in the eastern conference, better than jazz
new orleans, anderson, holiday, gordon, possibly oden much better than jazz, i see them making playoffs
washington, milwaukee, boston, charlotte, philly are closed boxes.some of them may really be worse, but at least three of them(possibly wiz, bucks and charlotte) will be better than jazz
orlando seems legit with oladipo, harris.given the boston, philly etc. teams went bad, they may have a better record than jazz.
sacramento phoenix jazz boston philly washington will struggle for worst records.

everyone likes overrating young core, but if I know kanter, (which I think I do very well) and also Favors with foul issues, burks seeming struggling, jazz will really have problems in game.
our bench may be the worst, indeed.
but starting five is not good that everyone thinks.

my list;
1- Phoenix
2- Philly
3- Jazz
4- Orlando
5- Sacramento
6- Charlotte
7- Wizards
8- Boston

and granted anyone leapfrogged, jazz will land Parker, at worst Randle

Well so do the Jazz and Phoenix, Sacramento, Minnesota, etc. Even taking that into account, that's 4 games against each other and 2 games against the WC non-playoff teams. Maybe a difference of 5-6 wins total? The East still had 5 of the worst 8 teams last year. And two teams NOT in that list (Philadelphia and Boston) are all out tanking this season. The EC could easily have all 7 non-playoff teams at 30 wins or less. Even the team unfortunate enough to get the 8th seed could be in the low 30's.
