Jazz Preseason Game 3.--Jazz @ Suns--8:00 pm

Hayward comes in and the lead vanishes...
To be fair, Watson and Thompson also came into the game. What has Earl done thus far?

Nichols having a nice game. The scrubs are going to make it very tough on Sloan and KOC. Gotta cut two. I don't think it's a given that Sundiata is gone.

So Phoenix just emptied their bench. They know it's hopeless with Kyrylo "The Beast" Fesenko prowling the paint.

It would be pretty sad if the Jazz can't hold on against the likes of Janning and Dowdell.

I'll call your sarcasm and point to the fact the Fes's current job to win is backup center, which he has done OK with tonight by playing some team defense, chasing down some balls, and making some free throws--and committed a technical. He's also thrown away the ball and made some stupid fouls. That's what you get with a rookie big in terms of minutes played.

BTW, Utah has "emptied the bench" with only 2nd and 3rd stringers (at best) also.

You misunderstood. I'm actually giving props to Fes. His teammates have been calling him a "beast."
Game ball(s) tonight go to everyone who shot FT's. We were saying that poor FT shooting would eventually cost the Jazz a game. Well, that happened to Phoenix tonight. Jazz shot an impressive 31-36. Phoenix was just 20-34. Jazz win by 5. Only thing that kept this game close was the block party put on by Frye and CLark.

Nichols and Jefferies made their case tonight but Thompson didn't really do anything. Hayward's shooting is really bad. I was hopeful that he would show the shooting he displayed in summer league. Evans is unbelievable. He fills up the stats with limited minutes. The coaching staff are going to have tough decisions to make Thompson, Gaines, Nichols and Jefferies are on the bubble.

Have to say that the guys fighting for a job and or time have been pretty impressive so far. Jerry hasn't played any of his normal rotation guys in the last 6 min of any game so far and we have still been able to close them all out and get wins.

Nobody had a great game tonight. BUT no one was terrible ether. (Hayward didn't shoot well but made some great passes and FT's when the game got close) and Evans came alive when it mattered at the end.

Nickles blows. So do Hayword and Jeffries. Hell, even Darren, Andre, and Big Al Geofferson peeve me of late. This team is sans a lick of hope.
