Jazz Select Olivier Hanlan

I like Cotton, but if he starts for the Jazz at any point next season, something has gone horribly wrong...

Im not even saying this as a blind fan, but he is going to make you look like such an idiot. Hope he gets traded/signed through FA than smokes you guys. As a Knicks fan (i know, hold the laughter) I would love to see him in NY.

GET OUT! We dont want you call us idiots!!!!

Gofriars, no need to argue your point. Summer league is coming up. If he tears it up in summer league, come back and tell us he should be the Jazz starting PG - not that summer league means anything, but at least you will have something to point to. If he is mediocre, sucks or gets outplayed by Exum and Hanlan (or scrubs from other SL teams), you have no argument.

Hes not going to, so Im not too worried. I find it slightly humorous how he teared it up in the 5 games he got substantial minutes in last year and everyone has there excuses "no one was trying", "meaningless games", etc. Unfortunately, I probably wont be able to watch summer league games but I will be sure to come back once the season starts and we see this whole forum touting how they knew Cotton could be this good all along. :|

He's a little limited just by being so small, but I thought towards the end of last year he was playing well. There are certain things he will never be able to do, but I like him better than Burke, honestly. At least when he starts chucking they seem to go in.

"He's a little limited just by being so small"

Tell that to 75% of the PG's in the NBA? You're right CP3 has no right to start, I mean look at how small he is! Also, I feel like I am beating a dead horse here but I have watched Cotton for 4-5 years, and while you have not seen nearly as much as I you have seen the play of the year for the Jazz when he threw down an alley pop over two 7 ft'ers, correct? The kids is not only the most athletic player on the court but he's got hops. His only weakness is defense, but the Jazz from the small sample size I saw played really good help defense when he was beat/ or on a mis-match

Here's an idea, how about the Jazz trade Cotton for Porzingas.

I like your fire.

I like your fire.
If he can play the 3, sign him up.

Its so funny to hear him bring up CP3. Yes, I'm sure Cotton is every bit the player Chris Paul is. That's why they were both drafted top-5. Oh wait...

So he's short and "GOFriars" admitted he's not a great defender. So yes, by all means let's start him and just tell the rest of the team they need to cover for him on that end. Isn't that kind of what we did with Kanter? Cotton is a BACKUP. I hope he becomes a great BACKUP. But he'll never be a starter in the NBA.

So let me get this straight- its funny I bring up CP3 but its not funny that you are dis-crediting Cotton on size alone? It seems, in my opinion, to be a pretty fair analogy. The only reason Cotton went undrafted was exactly because of people like you who thought his size was a weakness (despite him being NINTH in the nation in scoring his senior year in college, and 21st in assists even though he was essentially a one man team.)

But alas I forgot you are a NBA expert and after seeing Cotton play in just 5 NBA games, in which he played excellent, you are ready to declare he can only be a backup. It is literally mind boggling to me how after 5-8 NBA games, everyone is set on him not being a starter even though he is more than capable to be one. Again, hope that comment doesnt come back when hes starting on another team crushing the jazz.

As a Knicks fan who has gad to deal with Raymond Felton the past few years, I can already guarantee Cotton wont be the worst starter in the league.

No need to. Although I have never been I imagine Utah isn't too much fun of a state. Just recommend that Bryce Cotton starts.

With your high IQ and knowledge I'm sure DL would work something out where you could coach/give input via webcam.

Lol at Cotton being compared to Chris Paul.

Lol at you for not comprehending the comparison. I was comparing solely on height, as both are 6' flat. A pretty fair comparison, if I do say so myself. Again, I understand your ignorance. You saw him play in around 5 "meaningless" games and never heard of his name before so you dismiss him base on height by itself, despite his really great performances. Shame you don't do your research. It will make you look like a fool when Cotton starts for the Jazz or against them

Pretty much everyone here really likes Cotton.

Sorry if we are crazy for not thinking he should start over the #5 overall pick who emerged as one of the top defensive PG's in the league.
