What's new

Jazz / Spurs

Hood will go 2 for 11 next game. Typical.
Nah, he has been super consistent this year. He has only had two games below 10 points all year, and one of those was the season opener where he had the gastric distress issue.

For my Christmas wish I want Hood to stay healthy for the rest of the season and see what he actually can become. He looks good right now, hopefully no more injury setbacks.

Hood isn't without his warts, but he's a very nice player.
With Hood, those warts are apparently inside (whatever causes him to have his frequent gastrointestinal issues).

When Mitchell returns, I want to see a DM/Hood combo. I think Rubio is very dispensable. Not sure what team would want him, though. Maybe Cleveland if IT's return isn't successful.

I loved how the TNT guys didn't bother to talk about the Jazz at all at halftime, despite them being up 12. I try not to whine about the disrespect this team gets, but sheesh.
Overall the commentary was terrible. It was basically a bunch of talk about how the Spurs need to do this or that in order to take the game away from the inferior Jazz. Sounded like home team announcers for SAS.

I think a DM/Hood/Exum rotation and maybe Burks could be really something. Ricky is short term

Great win against the spurs. Winning with as many injuries as we have is great.

But I gotta admit, Lamarcus has been a huge disappointment for me. I thought he’d take the torch from Duncan and run with it. In reality, he’s just a slow jump shooting big who plays zero defense. You’d think he’d be a terror on the pick and roll game. Nope.

Honestly, Favors, DJ, or Capella are better offensively in the p&r.

LaMarcus seems at his best where teams clear out and let him shoot his goofy Rasheed Wallace like turn around jumper from the baseline. Too bad for the spurs it slows their entire offense down to do that.

He’s just not quite the right fit. IMO, the spurs would be better off trading him away for some small guys and play with better pace than try and run their offense through LaMarcus

what? if it wasn't for LMA's amazing play the spurs would probably be under the jazz in the standings.

LMA is not a SA type of player. Kinda baffled when they picked him up. Not because of his play, but more because of his drama and leaning closer to the AK end of the spectrum than the Donovan end, as far as mentality goes.

They had zero interest in calling the game. It was awful. I noticed this as well. Really terrible job by TNT

I agree.
Kind of laughable for so many on this board to be calling out a guy who has led his team (21 pts/per) to third-best record in the WC despite not having Kawhi. Did he have a bad game? Yes. But he's been a stud this season.
