Jazz to do Arena upgrades

I would add a bronze statue of Matt Harpring to commemorate his death... When he died having molten bronze poured on him in order to make the statue. Then get a new color caster to replace him. That's really the only renovation I can think of.

**** you, you son of a bitch. Not that I know Harpring, or care if you belittle his name.

You mean my intentions of creating a 16 page thread where the most well versed Jazzfanz came in and crushed the schoolboys with blind loyalty?

Or was it my intention to have DL play damage control by calling Gordon Monson and having him immediately write an article in response to my criticisms?

Or is it that you do not believe the Jazz are, once again, on the verge of losing a huge swath of the fanbase like they did post SnM? Would that be good for you and I as fans?

Or is it that I just wanted to play around in the offseason with a thread that has very valid merit yet is controversial here?

Or is it that my intentions are in fact real and I would like to discuss them with fellow jazzfanz first? Is that okay with you? That I use an internet message board to discuss the main topic of the message board? Is that okay with you jazzman12 or should I just jump off the bridge and never look back because my discussions bother you?

It's simple: You started a thread claiming that you needed a new team. I'd like to see you follow through on that. Obviously, that's not going to happen. We both know that you aren't, or never were going anywhere regardless of what this team does or doesn't do.

It's a great arena for basketball. Have you been to one you like more? Why build a new one?

As silly as it sounds, it seems like building new arenas has become somewhat of an arms race in regards to attracting FA's in all major sports and I'd just like to see the Jazz get in on that. If they did it right, it could also add a cool new element to downtown.

I remember Mark Cuban building the new Mav's arena years ago and reading about how the players were marveling at the creature comforts of their new home and how they could use it to entice future FA's.

Can the Jazz keep up with the Jones' in the NBA with just a remodel? I guess we'll see.

Not sure who you are talking about but I missed that part of the thread. Did this person put their blind loyalty on the schoolboys all at once to crush them or did they beat them over and over with their blind loyalty until the schoolboys submitted?

From another jazzfanz poster
3. The Jazz really do have a good thing going. They have 4 of the 60 or so players in the league with 6 or more win shares last year (Basketball Reference), for example. All of them were 25 or under (according to BR's age scale). Only 27 players 25 and under had that level of win shares. That's less than one per team, on average. We had four. It's easy to argue that this group deserves a chance to see what it can put together with Exum and Burks back, better injury luck, and stronger attention to building a bench.

Hopefully that makes you feel a little better about our team.

I already tried to make you guys feel better before though so I assume more proof/information won't help any and you will still think the jazz team sucks and management are a bunch of dumbasses but I figured I wouldn't give up on you guys yet.

I just care too much.

I think "the creature comforts" are the big thing. I think they can get on par with the rest of league with the renovation, without a new building.

It is pretty much perfect IMO. Tons of arenas and stadiums are getting fancier and fancier. I would just mandate liquor sales with a 2oz. bourbon pour and call it good.

Oh baby.

Changing the arena name would be a upgrade. Do the Vivint salesman come to games and hand out flat brimmed hats that say 'Douche' on the front?

Gateway is picking up with the new ownership and I know they are investing a lot into improving it. There are a lot of business around that area that are popping up that are nice. I also know they are planning to develop that train station area. Jazz should invest money into helping moving the homeless shelter somewhere else. I know they are building new facilities and separating out women/children and families from the general population. That would make that area nice. Then add a little face lift outside and add a few cool things inside such as better bars/eating areas. The new screens make the arena feel a lot nicer inside. Maybe they should redo the seats and signs to look nicer as well.

I'm all for them separating women, children, and young adults from the adult male population but I think the emergency men's shelter should stay there. Simply moving the shelter doesn't solve any problems it just imposes the burden on property owners that bought their property unknowing that the shelter was going to be put nearby. That shelter was there long before the Gateway. I don't like the idea of the politically powerful pushing it out of "site" out of mind. If it stays there initiatives like housing first, better mental health services, and addiction rehabilitation are more likely to continue to be be funded and improved. Move it and the problem will be ignored for another 30 years.

Forgive me, I must have glossed over this comment and I just need some clarification. Are you insinuating that your complaints reached DL directly, which led him to reach out to Monson in an effort to have him write a spin article?

I agree with a lot of that but I dont see the problems getting solved any time soon. Until citizens and the government change their stance on drugs we are going to have issues. Drugs need to be decriminalized and we need programs to encourage and help people get off them instead of imprisoning them for addictions or leaving them relegated to homelessness. Heroin and meth would disappear from society if we decriminalized drugs. If there are going to be dangerous homeless people I would rather them not be downtown near businesses and main transportation areas. Put them in an area with nothing around. Keep the womens and children in the downtown area where help can be provided for those it will make a difference for.

Nice to see ownership using some of that money they've saved in potential player salaries to polish this turd of a team.
Agree.
Spend money on players. Then the arena will feel "new" again because Jazz will be a winning team.
Seriously, though, replace the food vendors. The WORST hot dogs and nachos I've ever had was at a Jazz game. Stale buns, half-rancid chips and a dog that had been over crooked into a shriveled mass of unchewable leather.

Let's change the chair color from radioactive green to hazmat orange.
