This was my first thought. Are we losing a home game for this?Is this going to be one home or away game fewer?
It doesnt really matter. Losing a home game vs the Magic is about as best case scenario as it gets if you are doing an international game.better be a away game

I agree about shortening the schedule, but this cuts down on travel distance for the Jazz.I just wish they would shorten the season by 10 games. Then one trip like this will have less impact, but still help the NBA/Jazz gain new fans around the world.
Any chance the schedule will be released this week?

Mexico City is closer to SLC than Orlando. It's also pretty easy to attach this game to a road trip off of a Texas game. This is hardly a travel burden game.
Sure they would lmao. The NBA doesnt care about a team losing a home game. I'm sure there is some sort of worthwhile financial compensation for the teams.I see it being attached to a road game and I see it being a road game for the Jazz. I don't think the NBA would allow a mid-high playoff seed lose a home game, $$$.
Also, IIRC Orlando is about 400 miles closer to Mexico City as well.
He's been there all year.Note to @Jason -- you should add Eric Woodyard to the Jazzfanz twitter feed if you haven't yet. Looks like he's the new Jazz beat writer from Deseret News.
edit: nevermind, looks like he's already there.
Looks like it'll be a roadie. I'm cool with that then.
Edit: Confirmed by Eric Woodyard.
