Jazz trade with Knicks

Tillie reminds me of Maxi Kleber but is a better shooter... we've needed that type of player for so long. The medical red flags are really red and blinking... but maybe he just had a bad run while his body was developing.
Man, I just don't see that with Tillie. I can't see anywhere close to that athleticism and versatile defense. Length for size is poor. But yeah, the offense is more skilled.

Where does Brantley even fit on this team? He's behind Morgan and Niang on the depth chart and the Jazz might add another 4 type. It just doesnt look good for him. I expect to remain a 2-way I would assume.

Brantley is our version of Paul Millsap. He can spot up from 3, move the ball, make a play off the dribble and finish inside. He wasn't ready as a rookie to contribute, and the Jazz didn't have a glaring need for him last season (like they had a glaring need for Morgan to defend big 4s and 5s). I think Brantley is a rotation player as soon as he's ready. If not, the Jazz can trade him and get something back.

FWIW, if the Jazz draft Woodard, I don't think he's going to play meaningful minutes as a rookie. Shooting, passing and decision-making are all question marks with him, imo.

He's not as athletic but can provide some rim protection from the 4 or 5 while spotting up. That's the mold/player type imo... but he could be more Ryan Anderson that blocks a shot every now and again... and that's okay too.

Another thing to consider... if you keep both picks you have 14 roster spots spoken for assuming Niang, Morgan, and Miye are back (no Brantley doe... sad). Assume we also want to add at least one free agent... then you are at 15. If you waive Ed he's on your books and if you use MLE you are hardcapped... like it would just be hard mechanically. There are a lot of ways around it....

Trade #38 and Ed for nothing or nothing and another second.
Consolidation trade with Ed and Niang or Bradley
Just waive and stretch Ed but you'll still be near the hard cap and you want some breathing room.
Draft Bolmaro and stash him (not fun for those of us that want immediate gratification).
Waive Niang... I know many of you would love this but he's worth his salary and the Jazz love him... ain't going nowhere.

Or you could just use the taxpayer MLE but that is 5.7M and will take some FAs off the board.

For those citing the low FT %, I did a personal study last week on the correlation between college 3% and FT% with NBA 3%. My main takeaway was that while FT% was indeed a better predictor than 3% (by about 1.5 - 2 times), neither comes close to being what you'd call determinative. The correlation between college 3% and NBA 3% was only about 30-35%. That's important, to be sure, but there's also a whole lot more to the outcome of good or bad pro 3% than college FT%. That means there's still lots of room for visual analysis of form to factor in to what we believe the NBA shot potential is.
EDIT: I mistyped the first time. I mistakenly said "The correlation between college 3% and NBA 3% was only about 30-35%." I should have said that it was the college FT% and NBA 3% was 30-35%. Correlations between college 3% and NBA 3% were about 15-20%.

Locke has been talking a lot about Woodard so I'd say there's a good chance that's who the Jazz take if he's still on the board at 27. Also think there's a good chance Azubuike will be the pick at 38.

I don't think we should assume the #38 pick gets elevated over Brantley in any way. Very possible that the Jazz could draft a INTL player to stash anyway if they believe roster size is an issue.

Eboua is someone who could get time in the G League and potentially make a real impact - boom or bust, but I like him. Maybe Bane even gets there.
Yeah, that's why I said likely and not for sure.

I'm pretty confident that the 38th pick will be a better player than Brantley if it isnt a stash pick.

He's a poor man's Jabari Parker, not Millsap.

Looks like Utah is in line with current trend

I'm intrigued by Jahmius Ramsey or Tyrell Terry. I think either could pair well off the ball with Donovan (I'm assuming DM will be the primary ball-handler once Conley is gone).

Hard to pass up Anthony Edwards if he's still on the board, though.

If Anthony Edwards is there at #27 I assume its because he murdered someone on tape and TMZ leaked the footage.

I think the Jazz want a stretch-shooting big, but Peyton Pritchard or possibly Devon Dotson at #38 would be good picks.
Not much of a fan of Dotson as he is just so small and even if he pans out a bit, he'll always be inefficient. Haven't considered Pritchard much, but the dude is a great basketball player. He's not near the top for me, but I wouldn't hate it.

Can anyone tell me who the five most likely picks are for our #27 pick so I can quickly watch videos of them and let you all know who the best player is? TIA.
