Dude Donovan had 38...

Currently re-watching the game, Melo is a straight up bitch. I used to love Syracuse Basketball when Adrian Autry and Lawrence Moten played there, **** if Melo doesn't make me hate Syracuse.
I don’t understand your post. Are you suggesting Donovan can’t play with Burks? It’s great that Donovan had a fabulous game, but we needed that, CP3 out, and Harden leaving to win the game because Donovan had virtually no help in the backcourt.

I would have played X over Rubio for sure but not AB. Maybe have him play behind Joe at the 3 cause Royce was mostly trash tonight but I think AB is a liability on D at the 3. That said Royce is a bit of a liability everywhere at the moment (I have faith both he and Ricky will bounce.) I suppose yeah what im saying is i wouldn't play AB and DM together.

From what I’ve seen, they play great together.

Yeah, I’m getting frustrated with coaching about Burks. He is playing really well, but that’s not enough?

I kind of like Allen and AB splitting the minutes. They are different and hopefully this keeps them both engaged throughout the season. Tbh, I think of AB as injury insurance.

If we do make a trade or there is an injury and Grayson now needs to be relied on regularly he will be further along. AB was fine last night... if he is going to take minutes I prefer it be from Royce or Ricky based on how those guys are struggling.

It is kind of funny how AB takes a contested long two and Quin is like "I'm done with this guy" and Ricky bricks multiple shots and has some serious WTF turnovers and we just go with it. The pass where Ricky jumped, threw it down the middle of the court, into a double team in the paint was just so bad. Committed all of the passing sins in one pass.

Yep (for the most part, I would pass on having them each play five minutes and would instead have them alternate games where they get substantial time).

Guys playing like actual **** need their leashes trimmed if we’re going to have this depth and we’re fighting for seeding. Royce and Rubio have been dreck, there’s just no way around it. Glad Mitchell saved this one, because if he even goes for just 20/3 the Jazz likely lose this.

Quin sees them play infinitely more than we do and probably has experimented plenty in those 3 hour practices, if X could run the offense better than Rubio he'd be the starter.

Rubio despite 6 turnovers(ouch) tied for the 2nd highest +/- on the team last night with 6 assists, two steals

Let’s cut the bull ****. Quin isn’t fine with Rubio shooting 20% on the year. Quin is showing faith in him in the hope that that faith gives him enough confidence to break through his dark period/slump.

It’s a long term psychological strategy, not a short-term basketball move. The math is clean, simple, and ****ing loud about how Rubio has been playing.

Completely agree

I think it had more to do with who he was on court with to be honest.

Hey man i'm just saying, if X was an awesome PG he'd be starting. He can score better than Rubio no doubt.

I know I'm the #1 Georges Stan, but I also think the guy deserves more time... per 36 he's 20 and 9... shooting over 40% on threes and gets a ton of 3s up (per 36 of course). His defensive rating is a 106 which is very solid. He's always in the right place and is a smart fella. I think he eventually gets more run and we will wonder why we didn't go to him sooner.

At a guess I'd say Don's +/- took a hit during the 3rd when Joe was on the bench and our ball movement sucked.
Something. Every idiot and expert watching that game knows what happened which is why you take into account production, efficiency, and +/-. In other words, context. Rubio sucked and benefitted from playing with franchise players.

Favors played an otherwise efficient and good game as an individual, but his inability to spread the floor and asking him to guard in space for the entire game means he got pulled and got a +1. Crowder produced very inefficiently, but just the threat of his shot opens up the offense and he is perfectly comfortable guarding in space, capable of switching virtually every position. He had a +6 even though the bench didn’t produce.

Ingles with the +16 because he’s the perfect team player.

Ricky has been not very awesome. Defense was good. Culture wise he's amazing. Offense its a bad fit. We made it work last year, but if he doesn't figure things out soon I'm not sure why we are forcing the round peg into the square hole. We don't need a traditional pg with our system... George Hill thrived and is not a "true pg".

I think Ricky eventually comes around but it is really bad and even when its good I find it hard to trust him.

Rubio’s the starter, no doubt. But giving him that amount of minutes while Exum and AB tore it up is a very poor basketball decision.

single game +/- is really misleading... honestly straight +/- can be misleading.

Ricky wasn't a complete nothing, because he defended well and gave great effort... his offense was bad and they really started sagging off of him.

If the team believes long term that Dante is the guy at that spot he needs more minutes... especially when Ricky is struggling and he is playing well.
