Jazz vs T-Wolves - 7PM MST

My question is... why?

Why don't you play as hard as you can?

I don't get it. Isn't bball for thousands of dollars for a few hrs motivating enough? Hayward made $42 grand for this clanker he had tonight. I'm sure Marvin and co made as much if not more.

How do you not play hard when you get to play a fun sport for more money in a few hours than what most people make in a year? I played bball for years without making a cent from it. I loved the game and I loved the competition. I just don't understand players like ostertag, AK47, Hayward, Marvin,'etc don't play as hard as they can. Don't you folks love bball?

I don't get it

More to life than money tbr

I couldn't find a tweet about this, who said it?

At some point hay wired has or will realize that he is not going to get an offer like the jazz made him in October. I wonder if the young man has enough character to recognize it is his problem, or will he turn his frustration into blaming Ty or the Jazz? It could lead to some great drama.

@Peter_J_Novak: I'm sure Hayward was super happy and not mad at all when he left locker room early lets not make this the 6th reason he doesn't like Corbin.

@DJJazzyJody: Gordon Hayward hustled out of the Jazz locker room right as media members entered tonight. Never seen him leave that quickly after a game.

@Clintonite33: Hayward's ego took a shot with that performance tonight. He'll rebound, be alright. Not the first player to scoot after a poor showing.

@sluhm: Gordon Hayward (5 points, 2-10 FGs) left the locker room and didn't talk to any reporters, as far as I know. Gotta be a first for him.

To be honest, I love the fact that Hayward is not making himself any money this year. Should have taken the golden ticket vs. piss it away on night after night of poor shooting.

Just got back from the game. Row 22 so I saw a lot of things.

Sorry AK47 homers, but stick a fork in Andrei Hayward, he's done. I've never seen such horrible body langusge. Constantly looking down at the ground, sulking, hands on the hips, and he sat 2nd from the end of the bench. Some of this might be frustration with Ty and with his own suckage. But ultimately it looks to me like he's either a broken player or someone who has clearly quit on this team and wants to bail.

No one has confidence in him anymore. Even my friends sitting with me (one of them isn't even a nba fan) said that his shot was ugly.

Hell, I'd go for an AK47 like performance these days. Hayward is literally giving us nothing. Raja Hayward is a complete liability on the court. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him benched and have Alec start.

Want more evidence of Hayward's quit? How many times did Brewer best him down the court for an easy dunk/layup? Hayward was off pouting/living in brain fart land while his man sprinted down the court.

Sigh

I'm a huge Hayward fan but I am sick and tired of his whiney, lack of emotion body language.

I can only assume **something** is going on with him we do not know about.

He certainly is costing himself a lot of money. His only chance is someone thinks they will do good for them.

Either way, before I thought he may get 12-13/year. Max someone will offer him now is 10 IMO.

Jazz may not even match that.

This whole situation is making me nervous. I know he is capable of playing at around a 8-10 mil level, but he hasn't in so long.

I feel like Hayward is going to sit out soon for quite a few games. Something's not right with him.

Guilt over cheating on that fine young lady, Kolbi. He hasn't been right all year long except for a handful of games (like OKC). Have to think the engagement and wedding is a distraction. Either that, or he has a secret agreement in place with Boston or Phoenix: play like *#%^ so Utah won't match a $12M/per contract. Then start playing like an all-star come Oct 30, 2014.

To be honest, I love the fact that Hayward is not making himself any money this year. Should have taken the golden ticket vs. piss it away on night after night of poor shooting.
And there's that. This is his final chance to impress prospective suitors around the league. Boston, Phoenix, Lakers, Philadelphia: all of those teams could have interest and cap space (well, Celtics would have to clear some) to offer Gordon a big contract. We should be glad he's a) driving his value down, and b) helping the tank.
