I just got off the phone with "Pistol". I told him I may need him to come off the bench and give me instant offense rather than start... I'm keeping my draft strategy flexible.

I would take Allen Iverson before Pistol Pete.

I was looking at him, however, I think Pistol has a smoother J and is a better passer. Iverson was MUCH more explosive though.

I could see Pistol spotting up for a three while Hakeem has the ball on the low block easier than I could Iverson.

But I love Pistol... that played an overwhelming part in my decision. I'm an emotional drafter... I can't help it.

They both shot the ball the same amount of times per game for their career, but Iverson had more assist per game and less turnovers.

Peter Maravich has to be one of the most overrated player of all time and for some reason is considered a great passer, even though he wasn't that great. He averaged 5 turnovers per game in the 1st season they kept track of TO's.

When you look at the stats, Maravich and Iverson are actually pretty similar players.
