Just about done with I, Claudius. Pretty cool insight into the imperial Roman life even though it is historical fiction

I have been reading Divine Comedy by Dante and I am halfway through Paradise. Before I picked up the books all my friends who read the books said Hell was the best followed by Purgatory and all of them was somewhat bored by Paradise. The thing is I ****ing love Paradise. It is as good as Inferno right now if not better. Purgatory as good as it was, wasn't as enjoyable as the other two for me.

I want to know if I am the only one that liked Paradise more(at least more than purgatory) and your opinions about the book. It's a masterpiece.

I am halfway through A Brave New World. I'm thinking of then moving onto Michael Lewis' Flash Boys or Robert D. Kaplan's Asia's Cauldron. I'm leaning towards Kaplan's book as throughout most of his career, he's been an incredibly prescient foreign correspondent.

Im reading the sequel to John Dies At the End.
I think i like it even better

I read The Tommyknockers. I wish I hadn't.

Aliens just don't, and probably never will, make a good story. Ever.

Reading Underworld by Don Delillo. Even if one doesn't want to read the whole big tome of the book, they should really read the prologue, which stands on its own. It's a retelling of the famous playoff baseball game the "Shot Heard Around The World". It's some of the most remarkable writing I've ever read. And I don't like baseball. But... gosh, it's just so good. It'll make you want to dig deeper into the book.

Or if you've never read Delillo, read White Noise, a shorter book, and a masterpiece.

Sweet, what was the final opinion on John Dies....?

Pretty funny, interesting, and overall enjoyed it quite a bit.

I will probably quickly forget it though........ until i got into the sequel.

Yeah, the sequel is much more serious and a lot more focused. I probably liked it better too, but still think JDATE was funnier.

^^ holy **** there IS actually a charles dickinson.

and here I am about to create a photoshop of Charles Dickens and Bruce Dickinson!

Sadly most King movies have been horrible. Ever since he was big enough to take creative control his movies went downhill fast. Carrie was good, so was the Shining and Dead Zone, but most after have been crap. Pet Sematary desperately needs a good reboot to erase the crap that it was originally.

Read the Puppet Masters by Heinlein. That will change your mind about this topic.

Read "The Myth of Sisyphus" by Albert Camus. It was a hard and slow read but I liked it.

Going to read "Bartleby, the Scrivener" by Henry Melville, author of "Moby Dick". Then I am off to read "A Song of Ice and Fire"
