Cell?

I was reading about the Dark Tower movies yesterday and saw that they are making Cell into a movie also. Oh goody, another zombie movie.

Soooo excited about a cell movie (i had no idea, thanks for info). I think cell is my favorite King book.

I was actually talking about dreamcatcher though. Which i think is a good, not great, king book.
My wife started it last night. I will let you know what she thinks.

I got her started on king about 4 years ago and now she has read cell, tommyknockers, needful thing, delores clayborne, rose madder, insomnia, the long walk, girl who loved tom gordon, and a coule of his compellations. (im sure there are a few im missing)

Her favorite is tommyknockers

Edit: she also read the running man

Holy crap was Cell the most derivative and crappy King book. It felt like he had some college creative writing student writing it under his name. Terrible premise poorly executed. Total mailed-it-in money grab by King. Ugh.

Just read that the movie will star john cusak and samuel L jackson.

I wonder if jackson will play the harvard hoodie zombie leader dude

I loved the premise and thought it was executed perfectly.

I even thought it to be somewhat plausable. (Someone figures out a way to corrupt all cell signals and deliver a pulse via cell phones that basically re-boots your brain..... zombie apocolypse ensues)

We can agree to disagree and I won't even make any comments about how unintelligent you must be to buy that load of crap. No comments like that at all. Nope.

:)

Log bringing the heat!

I agree with him though, it was just terrible.

As for Dreamcatcher... Man, the first 300 pages of that were some of the most intense reading I had ever had upto that point of my life. I remember with great vividness laying in my parents basement (I was still in HS I think) and being too scared to get up and turn out the lights. I read all through the night and into the morning. I've never been so thuroughly unimpressed and pissed off by an ending -- more like the second half of the book -- than with DReamcatcher. Under The Dome was a close second, but at least he waited until almost the very end before he sharted all over an up-to-that-point very awesome book.

I can't believe you haven't put your wife onto the DT series yet... WTF are you waiting on?

She will start them eventually.
The Dark Tower might just be a little too unrealistic for her. I mean i know most every king book has alot of unrealistic stuff but his other books are at least set in our own world.

I dont know how she will like travelling around in the dark tower universe

That is why it is called "fiction".

Just finished Gone Girl (thanks for the recommendation QSH) and it was Very Very good....... right up until the last page, when the ending was one of those open ended botch jobs with no closure that i loathe so much (and happen so often).

Cant wait for the movie. I watched the trailer for the movie right after finishing the book and it looks amazing! Really good reviews out for the movie as well. (rotten tomatoes has it at 89% right now)

Good bump. I read Mr. Mercedes, Dr. Sleep, and I'm almost done with Bag Of Bones. I loved the first two, can't wait to be done with BoB -- it's really not good.

Bag of bones is a good book.... and it gets better as it goes on imo.

I have yet to read the other two but I did listen to some of the audio book for Mr Mercedes.
Poor retarded Frankie chasing his fire truck to closer to the basement stairs.

Brady doing his own mom.... not a proper upbringing

I hope you're right, because so far it blows. Mike is just realizing that his wife wasn't cheating on him. I see potential, but I'm not holding out much hope.

What does that say about Cy?
