JazzFanz Official Draft Rumors Thread '13

I don't think 21 is a reach for Canaan. I would bet that Shcroedar is still there too.

My guess (can I do that in this thread?) for the Jazz is Norgui and Canaan.

They now have Tristan, Dion, and the #1 pick offered for Kevin Love. I jump on that if I'm Minny TBH. Get away from that broken *** malcontent.

Would anyone give Kanter for that package?

No.. but Love has shown signs of discontent...plus they have 1 less year on that contract.. so I'd do that deal if I were Minny..

I think if the Jazz pass on Schroeder and Larkin at at #14 both of them would go to the Bucks and Celtics at #15, #16 in some order. Karasev will go #13 I think, either to the Mavs or Cavs.

Exactly.. that's why we need to take a PG at #14 and a big at #21.

It's not about that.. what would give us the best chance of getting Schroeder & Gobert, and I would argue going with Schroeder at #14 gives us a better chance of Gobert at #21. (than the other way round)

Why the fixation with Gobert & Shcroder? Are the Jazz trying to cut the weight on the team charters?

Jazz could take Tim Hardaway Jr. at #14 and Tony Snell at #21 (the two guys Sacramento likes a lot), Kings take McCollum at #7, then the two teams just swap players?

The Kings like Shabazz too. If the Jazz take Shabazz at 14, I'd say there's at least a 50% chance they're taking him for someone else.

The Kings like either Hardaway or Snell later in the draft, but wouldn't likely want both.

So look for Shabazz + Hardaway Jr. as a potential trade back to the Kings. See if the Kings take Burke or McCollum.

Regarding Erick Green, he has a combination of size, speed and scoring. I'd take him over Canaan, and I don't think he's far behind Schroeder as a prospect.

He was at the end of my list of players for the #21 pick, before I went all in on Goodwin.

I agree.

Agree. Love is not happy in Minnesota. He's said that a couple of times. Can Minny do anything to immediately become a contender? Not even close. They need to do what Utah did with Deron...trade him for as much value as they can get. If I were the GM, I'd be calling Orlando, Washington and Charlotte, seeing if any of those teams wanted to give me more. In fact, place 28 phone calls - use the Cleveland offer as the base and try to get even more value.

I wouldn't either, but I think I'm going to be a little ticked if the Jazz sit on their hands again tomorrow. So many rumors swirling and flexibility that there's no reason not to move into better position.

If OKC thinks 12 n 29 can squeeze into top 5 then the Jazz should be right there with them.

Waiters isn't that great. TT is like a Paul Millsap. #1 = Noel or Oladipo.

Kanter is the best player in that prospective trade.

In my defense, I didn't watch a single Cavs game in fear of a CJ sighting. Not even the ones against the Jazz.

Fair enough.

Obviously Kanter is the best player in the deal, but Waiters is pretty good he averaged around 13 PPG as a rookie this year and the Jazz would just pick Noel at #1. Tristan Thompson isn't a scrub, but he is a decent 3rd big. Can you imagine having the twin towers of Noel/Favors down low and have a shooting guard tandem of Burks and Waiters?

Yeah. That would be an amazing to watch borderline playoff team.
