Wow... EVERYBODY IS TRYING TO MOVE UP!!!!!!

One of the primary targets of Oklahoma City's pursuit of a Top 5 pick on Thursday, sources tell Y! Sports: Maryland 7-footer Alex Len.

Will we go with a big and a PG?

Lindsey said the 2013 draft class has "an inordinate amount of bigs that are really big." He also called it a "solid point guard class."
Looks like I may have been right. I've been expecting the Jazz to go big at #14 (better value) and then draft a backup PG at #21.

I know that's probably the strategy that is "safe" and best "value"...

But I still think we should gamble on Schroeder if he has the upside... I would hate to be stuck with Plumlee and Canaan and them not turning out to be more than just role players, while another team picked up Schroeder and he's blossoming into another Rondo.

Hayward vs George, all over again??

It won't be Plumlee at #14. One of these three will be available: Zeller (probably not), Adams or Nogueira.

Zeller and Adams won't be, I'm 100% sure of that.

I'd rather take Plumlee over Nogueira... Schroeder seems "hungry", Noguera doesn't...

Pretty sure of that myself...unless a team is very intrigued by Nogueira's potential. Schroeder seems "hungry" because he apparently never eats. We'd be drafting either player based solely on potential. I don't see a better chance of getting a very good 3rd big than this draft. Schroeder-type PG's are available in the teen's/early 20's of every draft.

OK Let's look at this... at the #14 pick we'll have the following players left to choose from:

Center: Plumlee, Nogueira, Gobert,..... (then there's Dieng, Withey)

PG: Schroeder, Larkin, .... (then there's Canaan, Wolters, Green)

Seems to me there's 3 legit bigs left and 2 legit PG left.

That means, it's safer to pick a PG, THEN wait for one of the 3 bigs to fall to us...

Gobert at #14 and whoever is left between Schroeder/Larkin at #21.

I disagree. Once in contention veterans will line up all along Interstate 15.

My point is, with 3 Bigs and 2 PGs, it's more likely that a big we want will fall to us at #21, than a PG we want...

If we missed out on Schroeder/Larkin, then the next tier is Canaan, Wolters and Green. They're a big reach at #21 IMO.

Good point, as soon as I posted that I realized it would be better to take Schroeder/Larkin at #14 and Gobert at #21.

Yes..

Not to mention Boston & Milwaukee don't have an immediate need for a big... so it's likely they'll take a swipe at one of the PGs or Karasev/Giannis... increasing our chances of a Gobert falling to us at #21.

They now have Tristan, Dion, and the #1 pick offered for Kevin Love. I jump on that if I'm Minny TBH. Get away from that broken *** malcontent.

Would anyone give Kanter for that package?

I think if the Jazz pass on Schroeder and Larkin at at #14 both of them would go to the Bucks and Celtics at #15, #16 in some order. Karasev will go #13 I think, either to the Mavs or Cavs.
