***jazzfanz official us mass shootings thread***

I don't own a gun, so I'm not well informed enough on the specifics. But these all sound great to me. In fact, that sounds like common ****ing sense to me.

I'm going to buy a gun one of these days, they're fun to shoot! But I hope it's a pain in the *** to get one, or at least have to put up with a waiting period of some sort. I would not mind in the slightest.

I have two guns. Got one in 5 minutes from a registered seller. Other I got as a part of an inheritance.

Pretty sure you just have to make it known that you hate Obama, gays, and immigrants and you get the equivalent to a Disney Land "fastpass" when buying a gun.

For example, the Assault Weapons Ban was instituted for 10 years and quickly repealed. In those ten years gun violence involving assault weapons was reduced. But the sample size was so small due to the short window that the data isn't really conclusive. Stuff like this is worth a try, IMO. But it requires a long term commitment and buy in every level.

I could be wrong, but I think I've read that the reduction in all violent crime during this time was linked to the war on crack cocaine drastically reducing the street supply.

<insert failed war on drugs rant below>

Are you saying our country doesn't have a serious problem with mass shootings? Or are you just being a butt hurt patriot?

I think when these types of questions arise as to whether we're "having a problem" in any sort of capacity, definitions are important. What do you define a "mass shooting?" I don't believe we are having any sort of significant uptick in shootings. Violence has been the lowest it's been in at least a few decades.

Feel bad for the wives and children of the deceased. Horrible...

I feel sorry for the deceased of all violence as well as the living parents of the perpetrators. There's a lot of stress to be had knowing your offspring has taken lives in a wanton manner.

Gun murders are at the lowest since 1981 (at least according to fact check in a 12/12 report)

No, just more of the same. Carry on.

More of what same?

There are many dyed in the wool extremists to be sure and they do nothing for the cause of the common man who holds his inalienable rights to self defense as paramount.

Are you referring to your fence sitting or post padding?

I'm your huckleberry. I'll engage you on this topic and also give you clarity on my personal arc in going from anti-gun to gun rights advocate.

75% of Americans are ****ing retards fo' sho.

Is there a special trough one must use to feed a horse that tall?

This is good tho, right? Because 3/4 of Americans are psychopathic killers, so the mass shooter is actually saving lives in the long run by preventing mass shootings that would have been started by 75% of his victims.

And yet, no one gives them the benefit of the doubt

Are you condoning thought killings?

Don't look to the tinfoil folk for any sort of even handedness on this subject. Doing so paints the issue in an unforgivable manner.

Why do you think hundreds of children are fleeing Central America to come to America?

Don't derail this thread. If you want to talk about that issue, start a thread about it.

We have a huge mental health issue in America.

Completely on point, though I am talking about a different perspective. Many of the "lone wolf" that have happened have occurred with folks under their prescribed psychotropics. If you look at the side effects of many of these drugs, a very small percentage will suffer from aggressive or violent behavior, hallucinations, acting without thinking, irritability, etc. The percentages go hand in hand with the amount of folks in respect per capita who are committing these crimes. Since we don't live in a vacuum, these shootings do not have an absolute cause but in my opinion it has more to do with psychotropic side effects than random white power folks.

Thankfully that ended well and there were few victims. The idea that police and other emergency personnel are first responders couldn't be further from the truth. The citizens have always been the true first responders in most if not all situations. Furthermore, it's interesting that Mr. Meis' background has not made it to most of the mainstream media as it probably does not conform to the preferred narrative. He is an ardent gun enthusiast and supports the NRA. Im sure if the area was not a gun free zone, he would have been carrying.

Can the police arrest people for talking about stuff?

Would you ever support something like this?

Fwiw, data shows these are not on the uptick and rate of gun violence per owner has been decreasing. Will link when I get a chance

No. That's why I was asking you a question.
i read it as "why would you support something like this"
my bad.

i dont know if i would support it.
