My thought of Chalmers heading to SLC is for the Jazz to package up some of the non-guaranteed contracts including perhaps Cotton and shipping them to Miami who I'm sure would cut them quickly for salary cap savings.

Is Chalmers any good?

He is a less talented Trey Burke who knows his place in the NBA and is a better shooter and defender.

I like it. I've endorsed this guy since he was in college. He's a lane-clogging center who plays good defense. Also, I think he's more athletic than he's given credit for.

Cy already said it, but, BROUGH! it's freaking clear that Cooley has one obvious NBA skill. It's rebounding. The problem is that he doesn't really have another NBA skill. If you don't think he's obviously a rebounder, then I don't know what game you've been watching.

Bob Huggins raved about his rim protection in college for what that's worth.

Maybe if Pleiss is really meh in camp, they keep Withey to compete for minutes with Pleiss.

Everything I've seen out of Pleiss (very little mind you) says that he isn't going to be a rim protector at the NBA level. Having both Pleiss and Withey would give us an option for an offensive minded center vs. defensive minded center.

Nah, I think he has taken 10 midrange jump shots his entire NBA career.
