What's new

Jimmy Butler

I would be reluctant to go Hayward for butler straight up... I think the attitude issues might be real here. He's not cousins but it doesn't sound great. I would understand the logic behind the move though because of his contract status.

That said I think people need to get comfortable with Hayward and his looming megamax deal... He's staying and we will pay a ransom for it. I still think he's is worth it.

I'd be willing to chase a butler for favors deal because I think lyles can be great and provide a better fit long term. I also think what favs brings is more replaceable than what butler or Hayward brings.

If a deal happened my guess is it would be favs and hood or hood and picks. Not sure the Bulls are ready to do that and they'd likely get something better from Boston.

Guys Hayward is just as good or maybe slightly worse than Butler. The difference between the players is not Gobert or Favors. I think his contract gives him more value but he's probably got some locker room issues that Hayward doesn't have.

Yep. If we trade for Butler, it certainly won't be a lateral move. DL would trade a couple young players or picks.

Playing chicagos gm i am call the jazz and and asking for lyles, hood and burks for butler, mcdermott and maybe this years l, maybe.

This is if the chicago is blowing it up and going you.

Would you do it?

Exum,
Butler
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

Is an amazing starting 5 but the jazz give up a ton.

GVC since you are still alive, can you shed any light on this from a statistician's perspective?

I wouldn't do this, but I'd give up Hayward + just one of the 3 (lyles, hood, burks). I'm pretty sure Chicago would want our best player in the deal anyway.

If CHI trades Butler they'd likely look to blow it up. I'd imagine they would ask for some combination of Exum/Hood/Lyles/picks. I would do Hood/Burks/#12 but I doubt that gets it done. Hood/Lyles/#12 might & while it'd hurt as a fan of both, you'd certainly have to consider it.

Exum/Mack/Neto
Butler/Burks
Hayward/3 & D SF
Favors/Stretch 4
Gobert/Whithey

That team could contend as soon as next year depending on Exum & the right addition or 2. I doubt Butler ends up in Utah but I hope they at least explore trade scenarios if CHI is in fact open to trading him.

Upon second thought with gibson, mirotic and portis they really dont need lyles. Hood and burks with fraft picks is a huge option especially if 2017 picks ate included.

If CHI decided to blow it up, I bet they would look to trade Gibson along with Butler & Rose. He's 30 & under contract for 1 more year.

Not saying they would do it because right now, they wouldn't, but maybe the only other stud type we could have a shot at is Paul George.
