Could be wrong, but I think he means that he's glad a decision was made and now we can stop speculating about him coming over.

Main points for those of you who might be interested in the original source:
- Barcelona and Tomic agreed in principle on a new contract (3 years) last week. It's not signed yet, they are still working on some details, including the length of the contract. Barring surprises, it's a done deal.
-He changed his mind recently. Just some weeks ago he said when asked about coming to Utah: "at my age, this is my last train to the NBA". Both Utah and him had mutual interest. Moreover, he hired a new agent (Wasserman y Alexander Raskovic) to negotiate his contract with Utah and they reached an agreement. He backed off and rehired his old agent.
-He will be paid between 2.5-3 million euros annually or 1.5-2 million after taxes.
-The keys for his decision were his role on Barcelona (the star of the team), his relationship with his coach and quality of living in Barcelona.

I said a few times in the Tomic threads that I feared he was just posturing for a long-term deal with Barcelona. Time to bring over Pleiss and maybe consider a big with that draft pick.
Hey there is always a chance he gets a buyout in his contract after year one and we can continue to speculate on him coming over.

This is disappointing news. But at least they know that backup C is their only real need this off season and they can move on because of finding out so early.

I don't think the source has the above correct. Most leagues/teams in Europe pay the player's taxes, and it was reported that part of the reason he was considering leaving was because he wanted 2.2 million, and that would cost the team close to 6 million with the tax hit.
I highly doubt he went from threatening to come to the U.S. if he didn't pocket 2.2 million, then gladly accepted a lot less than that.
I'd bet he will pocket 2.5-3 million after taxes, which means it's a 5-6 million dollar deal.

I think this is really unfair. How many people work for the LDS church at reduced wages because it gives them a sense of fulfillment? Does that mean they aren't "cut out"? How many people have passed up better opportunities to stay close to home? Maybe the guy likes his life, is a star, the money is the same, and wants to enjoy his hard work.
